Beautiful place with lotsa of character. If u are tired of chain business like hotels ( Marriott Hilton etc) this is it. Food was specifically local but they accommodated my wife’s need to eat literally zero spicey food. The staff is very helpful and has an amazing attitude. Service is exceptional
Old town kochi in spots can be a bit challenging in cleanliness do not expect a London or Miami. It’s narrow streets and very old couple of hundred years so some of it is historical and some not.
I stayed one night elsewhere in another 5 star because they were booked out. If I had a choice I wd still stay here.
Also got my wife here for her first ever visit to India Asia and all that and she managed the food and location well … we didn’t go anywhere much just relaxed weather was too humid this time of the year in early August.
I wd come back here
Surrounding the location is just very old old town it’s what u don’t expect but the property is amazing

The interiors in the reception area, the staff at the reception, breakfast, library space
the room had some old items like the back wall paper had marks, the carpet had marks.. and for a third individual, the cot given was so sub standard considering it is a 5 star classified hotel. I tried pointing this out to the staff and she was getting defensive. i mean no harm and I wasnt looking for any compensation. I was only saying that when you classify yourself as a 5 star - the money is paid for that experience - clean and therefore comfortable. The fact that it wasnt 'unclean' doesnt cut it for the rating and price. If the facility is renovated - it should be good.
