Very friendly welcome. The room was well laid out; we like the little mezzanine area for the two single beds - this would be ideal when travelling with children. the soundproofing of the room was good - we didn't hear any noise from the bar or restaurant. The communication prior to our stay was great and they let us know in advance that there would be a big group using the restaurant in the evening. They were very accommodating of our request for an early breakfast on Saturday and it was all great with a smile and very friendly service - thankyou very much. The location and village looked really nice - we were sorry not to be able to stay longer

Just a lovely little community owned pub, with a big heart!
I arrived much later than I expected and Katie from the pub waited back for me well after closing time.
I was really tired when I eventually got there and I was quickly shown to my room, where I was able to get a really great night's sleep. Woke up refreshed to a really decent full English Breakfast with good coffee and juice.
Not much phone signal but decent free Wi-Fi with no pesky login screen scraping your details.
My only regret is not arriving early enough to sample the beers and enjoy the bar. The place is up for CAMRA Best Pub in Yorkshire - high praise indeed!
There was nothing I didn't like at all. It ticked all the boxes for me - and it was great value too.
The village seems really nice too and again I would have liked to look around a bit. Really handy for Catterick.

Beautiful setting exceptional friendly staff. However the room was freezing no heating on at night heating came on in morning.
Bathroom door opened on its own and light came on
Unsure if door faulty.
