Located in Avon, this lovely house for $225 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Located in Avon | 5 Bedrooms | 5 Full Bathrooms | 1 Half Bathroom This well-appointed 5-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom sound-side home is a crowd-pleaser full of amenities. Enjoy uninterrupted sunset views from the enticing back decks, a private pool, an 8-person hot tub, and a game room. Don't let the sound side location fool you—Beach Break is only 4 lots back from the ocean—approximately 400 yards from the community beach access. Ground Level: Ground Level Amenities include a private pool, covered deck, outdoor shower, fish cleaning table, charcoal grill, and a carport and driveway that accommodates up to 6 vehicles. As you enter the home, you will find a large game room with a 7-foot pool table, stereo system, large TV, DVD player, kitchenette, and access to the covered pool-facing deck. The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave and full-sized refrigerator so you'll never have to wander far from the fun to enjoy your favorite snacks and drinks. Directly off the game room is Bedroom #1 furnished with 2 Twin beds, a Smart TV, and access to the covered deck. A sizeable full bathroom and laundry room are also located on this level. Mid Level: As you make your way to the middle level, you will find 3 spacious bedrooms all with Smart TVs/DVD players and attached private bathrooms. Bedrooms #2 and #3 are furnished with a King bed and have access to the covered hot tub deck. Bedroom #4 is furnished with a pyramid bunk (Twin over Full) and has a private deck on the front of the home. There is an additional seating area on this level with a flat-screen TV and DVD player and additional direct access to the covered hot tub deck. Top Level: The top floor features a well-appointed kitchen, main living area, covered deck, and sound-facing sun deck. The living area includes a full entertainment center with a 42-inch flat screen TV, stereo system, DVD player, and an inviting dining area that seats 8. The kitchen is equipped with all you will need to prepare your favorite meal with plenty of cookware and a breakfast bar that seats 4. The top floor finishes with Bedroom # 5, an impressive King bedroom with an ensuite full bathroom, and access to the top-level deck. A half bathroom is also located halfway up the staircase from the mid to top level. Extras: Private pool, hot tub, 8 flat screen Smart TVs, DVD players, WiFi, pool table, traditional coffee maker, charcoal grill, covered decks, sun decks, outdoor shower, deck furniture, and a fish cleaning table. No Smoking/Vaping. No Pets. Distance to beach access: 1200 feet. Beds: 3 King,1 Bunk Bed (Twin over Full), 2 Twins. Key Type: Keyless Entry. Check-in Location: At the Property. PRIVATE POOL is open from April - October Pool Heat is an additional $500 per week. Fireplace is not for guest use Linens and towels are provided all year. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made except for sleep sofas, top bunks, and trundle beds in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom, and a bath mat for each shower or tub. IMPORTANT BOOKING NOTES/ LEASE AGREEMENT/ ADDITIONAL OPTIONAL FEES: Please read the RENTAL AGREEMENT during the booking process. Immediately after booking you will receive an email with instructions to electronically sign your lease agreement to complete your reservation. We offer travel insurance to all guests as an option to purchase at that time. There may be additional optional fees charged to your reservation that may not be able to be listed on this site (examples: pet fee, pool heat, early check-in, security deposit, special events, etc ).

This was the perfect property for our family! The teenagers had plenty to keep them entertained (pool tournaments all weekend!). Thank you for sharing your home. If we ever return to the Outer Banks, we will be back!!

House was very nice. We left a day early due to weather. No start up supplies were there as advertised. (Such as paper towels, dish soap, etc).

We had a great time at Shore Break! The house was clean and had everything we needed. I would recommend bringing your own soap and shampoo (they provide hotel style shampoo and soap) but we had everything else we needed for toiletries and for cooking. The pool was such a bonus. We didn’t pay to have it heated and it was totally fine. We had a wonderful stay!

Loved the house. Surprised by the views. However the pool didn't seem clean. It had lots of sand and dead bugs. I know it's the beach though and we still enjoyed it. The kitchen pots have seen better days. Frying pan needs replacing. Also the upstairs master bath has mold on shower head and shower curtain. Many of the vents also had something that looked like black mold. Also the master bath sink on left side did not drain well. Just letting y'all know the negatives so that it can be done for that clean in off months. Also, in our usual chaos of leaving we forgot to leave a tip. Sorry this happened and want to know if there is anyway we can still get it to the cleaners? It was our first time using Shore Details since we always used OBR. We will definitely consider this house and company again. Loved the location!

We had plenty of room at this property. Location was great, we were close to the grocery store and it was only a short walk to the beach. The pool was very nice. There were 2 outside showers to rinse off in as well. We had a great time here.

This property was exactly as described. There was plenty of room for the whole family.
Pros: clean house and linens, big pool with plenty of floaties, bathrooms in each bedroom, great pool table, beautiful views, walking distance to grocery store and restaurants
Cons: TV's were difficult to figure at first and streaming only, no local channels, hot tub only reached 90 degrees

My family had a great time on vacation at the property. My kids particularly enjoyed the pool, we were in and out several times a day. Good location, 10 min walk to the ocean side beach.

Perfect home for a three-generation family vacation. Very well maintained property with gorgeous views of the sound and a very easy walk to the beach. Plenty of room for 10 people without feeling overcrowded. The management company was very responsive when we called them. Everyone had a great time!

House was exactly as advertised, close walk to the beach. The house was dirty upon arrival, and we had ants (the property manager did have it sprayed while we were there).

The layout of this property was exactly what our family needed. It was close to everything including the beach, the sound side and the grocery. The whole family agreed that this vacation was going to be a relaxing one, and this house and location truly allowed for that. The house was also nicely cleaned compared to other homes we have rented before. The only issue we had was the upstairs air conditioner was not working properly. However we contacted property management and they worked with the owners. By the next day a new air conditioner had been installed and was working great. Before the new air conditioner was installed the property management company even brought window air conditioners over to help in the meantime. We had no other issues for the rest of the week and really appreciated the prompt response to the air-conditioning issue. We look forward to booking another family vacation at this property again soon.

Our week in the Outer Banks was perfect! This house was exactly what we needed for our family vacation, with enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone to have their own space. I'm thankful that we read about the boardwalk and knew that the walk to the beach was easy and short. The kitchen in the house had everything we needed, the pool was awesome, all of the electronics worked and were easy to use. I wish we had cushions for the wooden chairs at the pool - but it wasn't a deal breaker! Overall it was the best vacation and a great value!

We had some difficulty actually getting into the property when we first arrived, but when that was resolved, all else was just about perfect. Beach Break had plenty of room for all of us (2 teens, an 8 year old, their parents, and us—the grandparents). I was glad to have read in another review about the shortcut to the beach—the boardwalk made it easy to wheel our cart of beach equipment (chairs, tent, toys, etc,), with only a short span where we needed to carry everything up and over the dunes via a stairway. The beach itself is stunning and sparsely populated.
The house contained everything we needed and more. We like to cook, and found all the equipment we needed (except for a pie pan, which I had brought along just in case). Beds were very comfortable—something we’ve found not to be the case in some other vacation rentals. The children couldn’t get enough of the pool, and their hours there gave the adults a great vantage point from which to relax on one of the decks.
One improvement to suggest, though—the outdoor charcoal grill is small, and no5 well-suited to preparing meals for more than a few people at a time. Since most of the meals we’d planned on involved grilling, dinner prep took a considerable time (not fun cooking chicken, fish, or steak in batches and keeping food warm while successive batches were on the grill). A larger charcoal grill or gas grill would be a great addition.
We’d never before stayed in Avon, and welcomed the proximity of a large grocery, a pharmacy, and—best of all from the children’s’ perspective—a branch of Duck Donuts. The overall feel of the area is peaceful and remote, however. Within minutes, we could be at the Hatteras lighthouse or mini-golf in nearby Frisco.
Overall, hard to imagine a better rental property for a terrific “beach break.”

Overall the house is lovely and exceeded expectations. I would give it a million stars save two things--two very annoying things.
Upon arrival the instructions printed on the door said to enter our 4 digit code. The code we were give was 6 digits. Shore Details is not open on the weekends so I had to call the after hours emergency line. While I was on hold, my husband was trying all the doors and one was unlocked so we got in. Who knows how long it would have taken to get in otherwise!
While climbing the stairs, I heard a horrible mechanical noise. Turned out to be the refrigerator. It was really, really loud and the first thing we noticed as we entered the house. We tried a few, things like turning off the ice maker, but it was unrelenting. Since Shore Details is not open on the weekend, we waited until Monday. I was counting down the hours because it was so annoying. When I was cooking, I could not be a part of any conversation because I couldn't hear. You could hear it in the King Suite upstairs and the bunk suite downstairs. I called Shore Details first thing Monday morning. When I mentioned the refrigerator, the woman immediately said, "oh, you must be calling from Beach Break". She reported that the owner was aware of the noise but refused to fix or replace the refrigerator because it was working. I explained how very, very vacation ruiningly unpleasant it was and she said that she would try to contact the owner but he would likely do nothing. Since there is a refrigerator in the basement, I inquired if the two refrigerators could be switched in location. She said she doubted the owner would agree to that. I tried my very best to enjoy all the other wonderful things the house had to offer but always in the background was the "RRRRRRRRRR" from the refrigerator.
The pool area was lovely. I paid for pool heat and was not disappointed.
The walk to the beach was easy and also lovely.
The beach was amazing and not crowded.
I loved the outdoor showers when coming home from the beach.
Each bedroom had its own bathroom. Luxury.
But at the end of the day, the owner's unwillingness to replace or repair the refrigerator spoiled my experience.

We enjoyed our stay at beach break. It was extremely clean minus a moldy shower curtain liner in the master bathroom and some ants in the kitchen (unavoidable in this area). The pool was fantastic and it was lovely that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The walk to beach was easy and quick. The only downside to staying was the communication with the property manager and the home owner. Upon our arrival we realized that the refrigerator was making an EXTREMELY loud noise whenever the fan turned on and that the back door lock on the bottom floor was broken. When we contacted the management, they arranged for a worker to come the next day. He fixed the lock but told us that the owner refused to fix or replace the fridge. After calling again the next day, the management company informed us of this same information. The owner refused to spend money on this because he plans to update the kitchen in the fall. They promised to reach out to him again as the noise made it impossible to converse with people more than 5 feet away. We never received another correspondence from them despite another phone call and email. This did not make our stay especially terrible but was an inconvenience and it was frustrating to know the owner was aware and just refused to do anything.
I’d imagine anyone reading this review will not deal with the fridge if he truly does plan to remodel the kitchen this fall.

Thank you, thank you! This gorgeous house was just what we needed after being stuck at home for over a year due to the pandemic. The house was absolutely perfect! Spacious, clean and bright and on a quiet, dead end street with a boardwalk leading right to the beach (a mere 3 minute walk!). The home was conveniently located close to the grocery store and to restaurants and shops. The pool was a little slice of paradise (it was worth every penny to pay for the pool heat) as was the hot tub. We also loved the pool table! The beds were comfortable and there was great water pressure in the showers. The best part... the view of the sunset over the sound... words cannot even begin to describe it! Also, everything felt very clean and safe from a COVID standpoint. We loved all of the decks and porches! We will absolutely be back and would recommend this place in a heartbeat!

My family and I had a wonderful experience. This house has all the amenities that a group could ask for and is located in a perfect location. We especially loved being away from all the tourist hot spots. Great family get away!
