Close to central station and town centre, lovely quirky style, not corporate, large room,excellent shower, great staff. I really enjoyed the breakfasts.
Access to rooms is not totally step free. As an old building, it's quite a warren.
No plug in wash basin which is essential for my medical equipment (I always carry my own!)

Unique hotel with amazing charm! Loved our stay here with the exceptional breakfast room in the cellars, having tea in the library, and tasty restaurants nearby. Close proximity to the train station.
Bigger cups for tea would have been appreciated.

Front desk staff were excellent, and my main hesitation for not writing a great review. The breakfast was also excellent, and in a very interesting basement room dating from the 14th century.
Getting to my room involved two elevators, lots of steps, and many long corridors. It was literally an expedition. When I departed, staff did handle my suitcase, but I wish I’d known to ask for this from the get-go. Space in the room was very tight. I asked for a quiet room, and my room did face the courtyard, but there was lots of noise from the kitchen, and kitchen smells that wafted up. No AC, so had to keep the balcony door open for ventilation. Balcony door also needed lubrication. Highest tub I ever climbed into to shower, felt like a hazard. Admittedly, I knew this was an old, classic hotel, but I didn’t realize all of the downsides to a standard double room. Perhaps the more expensive rooms were better.
