We stayed three nights at The General Kyoto Bukkoji.
This is quite literally one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!
The staff was warm and welcoming and went the extra mile to offer assistance/recommendations. The package we chose included breakfast, which was so delicious and abundant! With free snacks and drinks (including espresso), we were never hungry! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with cozy cotton pajamas that were changed out each day. The location was also perfect, with walking distance to Nijo Castle and Nishiki market. Tons of great dining options are also close by.
We hope to stay here again sometime, if we ever make it back to Kyoto! This is our number one pick!

About 10 min walk from shops. The drier does take a long time to dry clothes, just be prepared and patient.
