Situated in West Pennington, this lovely cabin for $250 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Marshall Gulch Getaway is an authentic hand-hewn log cabin overlooking a serene valley on 7 acres just 2 miles outside of Hill City. A mountain creek flows within view below the cabin. Deer and turkeys are frequent visitors in the yard! The cabin is tastefully decorated with décor fitting the mountain atmosphere. This cozy cabin has a king size log bed in the loft, and a double bed on the main floor bedroom. We allow a max of 4 adults in this rental. If a third sleeping area is needed for a child, you may bring an air mattress and necessary linens. The kitchen is spacious for a family of 4-5. There is one bathroom with a tub/shower combo and laundry accommodations with washer and dryer. The loft bedroom has a window AC. Board games and playing cards available for rainy or snowy days. There is a 47-inch flat screen satellite TV in the living room, along with a real wood burning fireplace! (And electric heat throughout). We supply a starter supply of firewood, and you can purchase extra at a local grocery store. The covered front porch is a favorite of guests to sit and watch the wildlife and let the day slip away. Around back is patio with a Gas Log fire-pit that has plenty of outdoor seating to have your morning coffee, outdoor meals, or just sit and watch wildlife. A propane grill is also provided. This cabin sits on a beautiful hillside overlooking the valley below with views of Black Elk Peak. But, the drive to this cabin is a piece of cake and parking is plentiful. Large grassy lawn with plenty of space to roam. This rental is a time-honored favorite for repeat guests. The cabin no longer has a hot tub as seen in some of the pictures and the virtual tour. NO PETS/NO SMOKING. NO TENTS or additional people camping outdoors! No exceptions! Centrally located in the Black Hills, about 15-20 minutes from Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State Park, Sheridan, Pactola and Deerfield lakes and the majority of all attractions!

Everything was great! Great location to town and seeing all the deer is a plus too :) There was not a hottub as it listed and showed in the pictures, but that is the only thing that we were bummed about with this property.

Amazing! Well-appointed, well-maintained, well-stocked and just perfect for our (husband and my) first time in SD. Comfortable, beautiful, and absolutely stress-free basecamp for our daily hiking in the area. The owners have thought of every little detail to make a stay total relaxation. We cooked a little and had a fire in the fireplace. Loved looking out the main room picture window during morning coffee and playing cards in the kitchen in the evening. Don’t have a single negative to share. We definitely imagined coming back again!

A cozy cabin with modern amenities! Perfect location for enjoying Hill City and the southern Black Hills. Plenty of space to park and easy access to the main roads. Lots of wildlife to view too! We really enjoyed our stay.

We absolutely loved this little cabin!!! Perfect for myself, husband and our adult daughter. It is perfectly located to be convenient to everything in the area. It is in very peaceful and quiet location too. It was exactly as described and very clean and well cared for. This will go on my list of properties to return to when we travel back to this area!!! We were only there for 3 nights and wish we had planned for a few days more! We will next time!

It was my family’s first time to South Dakota and this was a great experience all around. The cabin’s location was perfect for doing all the sight seeing. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the wildlife. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed.

The Marshall Gulch Getaway is so great that you almost want to keep it a secret. I took my two children (6 and 10) there and we had a four day vacation that we will never forget. The location is stunning, private and tranquil. Only gave the location 4 stars as it was a little bit challenging to find the first time! The property itself was very well maintained and very clean. Although we didn't need anything from the owners or managers, they were communicative and we had their info at the ready. This place was simply awesome and we'll never forget it.

Great location just outside of Hill City. Very convenient. Directions and information about the cabin was accurate as well. Cabin was very clean and in a peaceful location. There was plenty of room for the kids to play outside and multiple days we saw deer in the yard.

This property is PERFECT for small groups/families, and the pictures/descriptions don’t do it justice! Excellent location, plenty of room to play in the yard for our young kids, private, and extremely well kept. Cabin is very well stocked with cooking and cleaning essentials, and the large washer/dryer were an awesome plus. Would definitely stay here again!

This property was a great choice for our family of 4. Centrally located outside of Hill City, the directions were easy to follow. The check in and check out processes were simple.
