The location was amazing. The people who worked there were really nice. Old house with some great views. The house was decorated and felt very much like an old Scottish house.

The location was quite spectacular, especially when the rain cleared and you had a wind swept view of the water and hillside. Always a challenge going up/down steep stairs to get to the toilet at night, especially after having finished the West Highland Way a day earlier! Very cozy place and wonderful interior design.

Clean property, good online communication with the owners
No direct interaction with the owners which makes the experience very impersonal. The price was too high for what it is, its location which is very remote, room size and the level of service which is none.

We knew it from a trip some years ago when it was a hotel. It’s the same beautiful location and furnishings.
We didn’t realize from the description that this isn’t a hotel anymore, and unfortunately only realized this after reserving, when I got the message that there’s no restaurant, etc. They only offer non-refundable bookings so you’re out of luck by the time you make the reservation and get this message. We arrived and there’s no reception. We wandered around until we found the name of the room we were supposed to stay in because there’s no one to ask questions about where to go. It’s very far from any restaurant so we had to get snacks from a food truck up the road. Their check-in time is 5pm which is much later than other places.
Some other reviewers mentioned that the hosts are nice, but I didn’t see anyone the whole time I was there. There was a tray with croissants, a boiled egg and juice at breakfast (I didn’t see any cheese as mentioned in the description.)
If you’re expecting an air b&b experience, this is a lovely place for that. It’s just not what I was looking for and I wish I’d realized it up front before booking.
