Kein Hostel

Beautiful beachfront location. The sound of the ocean at night was lovely. Spacious and comfortable beds. Washer/dryer was very welcome after a few days on the Camino. Staff was accommodating. Go to the Xibarta ice cream shop down the beach!

Overall this is one of the best hostels I’ve been to, but one minor complaint. There is someone to help you check in, but other than that there’s not a staff person constantly present. It works out fine, and they are available on WhatsApp, but a little something is lost by not being able to have that personal rapport.

The location is absolutely amazing, directly on the sea. The staff is very friendly and helpful (when it is there). The hostel itself was clean, well-organised, with all needed facilities, so I did enjoy my stay here overall!

Small curtains that cover the bed are made from plastic or a similar material which makes it impossibly hot at night. However, opening them exposes one to the cold air from the air conditioner (if you sleep in the top bed closer to it). Its not ideal, I caught some cold after my stay. Washing machine has overly complicated system with very user-unfriendly app.

Location was great. Beds were comfortable. Very clean space. Perfect for what I needed.

Some more clothes drying space would have been nice.

It was very hot which made it difficult to sleep. Also there are unnecessary levels of security which, paired with a lack of staff presence, made for an unpleasant stay. For example you need a key card to access your room and shared bathrooms. Another guest got locked out of their room and disrupted me in the middle of the night. Staff could not be reached. That male guest that then had to share a room with me conducted themselves in unseemly behavior. Using the space (with 2 women present) while nude. This made for an unsafe feeling stay and a poor nights sleep as a result. Staff presence and/or less security (to get into the bathrooms) would have prevented this. Nice place but a bad stay for me.
