The Historic General Stanton Inn

The property was beautiful and historic

Staff were wonderful and gave us a mini tour of the main house. What an historical gem you have in The General Stanton Inn! Staff also helped us with getting some needed items for cooking in the apartment.

Just a gentle criticism.... We had no idea we had to ask for our extra bedding for the apartment at check in when we had listed 4 occupants on our reservation. There is only 1 bed, so we were going to need the cot and pull-out couch. We found extra sheets and throw blankets to keep us comfortable after searching around, but it was late to be scouring the apartment for a pillow, comforter and sheets. A logical place to keep the cot and pull-out couch's bedding would be the large closet off the kitchen/living room area when needed for future guests. Remind people to ask for extra bedding upon check-in to the apartment at a minimum. Thanks!

We liked the clean room, modern barhroom and historic nature of the building.

There was a Rehearsal dinner there so the entire Inn was off limits and no food or bar available, so we had to leave. Its quite a ways away from anything so finding dinner was difficult without driving again. Our room was so small, there was not even a night stand, so I pulled a chair next to the bed for water, glasses, book- but ended up not being able to read unless I wanted the o rehearsal light on. The upstairs hallway was dimly lit and surprisingly haunted feeling, and there were no common or well lit spaces anywhere to read. However, the bathroom looked brand new and everything was spotless. We were just trapped in our room or car for the night.
