We had very minimal expectations of this booking as we thought it may be akin to a hostel experience. However we were all pleasantly surprised by our experience. The entire centre was exceptionally clean, warm and inviting. The rooms were also very clean, compact and an excellent use of space. The beds and bedding were really comfortable and the blackout blinds/midge nets installed in the windows were fantastic. Each room had plenty of charging points, the en suites were equipped with highland soap company toiletries for extra luxury and the towels were super soft!
We were also very comfortable in the shared lounge area, as a large party we had wondered how we would fair with this however it was super comfortable and well laid out so that other guests could also still enjoy the space and have their own privacy.
Some members of our party had an electric vehicle and were delighted to see a charging port on site also meaning they could charge their car overnight which was of huge relief!
The shared kitchen facilities were also super clean and accessible.
Overall the centre has a wonderfully wild charm about it, with it's eco-friendly focus and background information on Trees for Life. The cafe and shop on site were also similarly charming and we very happily made a few purchases of locally sourced provisions!
We've definitely earmarked this accommodation for future use - particularly as an activity base!
To be clear - there wasn't anything about the accommodation we didn't like. It was very much an enjoyable experience and we will be staying again! Some suggestions we'd maybe share for future are that it would have been good to have a hob/cooker available to cook on site and that perhaps the fridges on site could be bigger to accommodate for all rooms. But these are very specific and certainly would not deter us from staying here in future!

A quiet, entirely self-check-in spot that feels more like a base camp, featuring very basic rooms as advertised. More to return to room to rest and clean up, and spend the rest of the time outdoors. The walks around the property is amazing. Well marked and good views.
Breakfast is simple and decent.
Wifi could be better. The reception is poor and wifi is provided, but the signal is weak.
While bathroom is clean, the shower pressure is very weak. A trickle at times.
Parking lots should be marked out clearly. Some guests takes up far more space in the parking lot which made other cars unable to use the space.
Take caution there are swarms of midges around the car parking area outside the accommodation. (first week Sept)

The breakfast was my favourite that I've had on my Scottish travels so far; the continental style included some really good quality ingredients and non dairy options. The baked goods were excellent.
There was no WiFi and because An Spiris is out in the sticks, there was no chance of using my 5G to complete the work assignments I needed to do. We called the staff, because there is no one on site after 6pm, and they said they would get it fixed in the morning but that wouldn't be any good for us as we only stayed one night.
