Very close to downtown and the beach. Can stay here without a car if plan is only going around Santa Barbara and staying close to places served by MTB bus lines. For a hostel, they were able to keep the bathrooms and the whole place clean and free of unpleasant smells. The staff is very warm and friendly which makes them stand out from regular hotels which can feel impersonal.
A bit run down. Needs a bit of TLC in maintaining the building as well as fixing/ replacing broken fixtures like wall plugs and portable fans inside the bunk stalls. Would be really helpful especially during 90 degree weather. Would also be nice if they can provide free drinking water all day to fill up our portable water containers to stay hydrated.

Great location, beautiful grounds and great set up for a hostel
There was a smell in the hostel, not sure what it was, and it was a little hot - open windows and fans helped

Awesome location to walk around Santa Barbara. Super friendly and nice staff. Great open relaxing spaces and I liked the privacy curtains for the beds

I didn’t try the breakfast, but the location is pretty good!
Some of the stuff people were so rowdy, and particularly this person ( transgender ) when he/she was at the front desk put a very loud music on the speakers which made me go away because it was annoying.
