The room was a short walk to anything in town. There’s also cafe with one of the better menu offerings in town right next to the hotel. My favourite amenity was the room’s large balcony with a great view of Pico. The staff is friendly and helpful. I asked lots of questions.

I am really satisfied. The rooms are clean. The best thing was that the staff was really nice and helped me many times when I could not speak English. I really appreciate it. The price is cheap and I am satisfied.

It is inconvenient, but unavoidable because of the low price. However, the water is a little hot, but you can wash your head and body well. The bed was a little hard.

The beds are too small (1.85m short and only about 1.4m wide) and hard. We had a connecting door to another room and it can be very noisy depending on your neighbour.

The receptionist was very nice and helpful. The bolcony was nice, thanks for the complimentary water bottles.

Everything is quite run-down and needs to be updated. The beds are very hard. It's an adventure to even get to your room (lots of stairs). The shower kept changing it's water temperature every few seconds or when you switched it off for a moment. Annoying.

Really friendly staff. Location was very good and there was lot of free parking space in the same street for a rental car.

Short beds, tall people like me (190 cm) have problems with that :-) Lack of fruits on breakfast table, but it is general problem in all accommodations we stayed at in Azores.

The highlight of this stay was definitely the staff's friendliness. They provided me with very useful tips of the island and I felt very welcome from the moment I stepped inside the property. The breakfast was included, and it consisted of several local products, and even some homemade. The best for me here were the homemade tomato and apple jam(which the staff was kind enough to give me a jar for free), and the locally produced São Jorge cheese. The bedroom was very clean, the bed was comfortable and it had warm bedding, which was appropriate for this time of year. The location of the guest house is very good, at the center of Velas, the biggest city in the island, and close to the only supermarket in the island, as well as great restaurants, and the ferry docks.

It was an excellent experience, I have nothing negative to point out.

Lovely service and staff who made check in much easier and generally offered open communication if needed! I arrived earlier but my room was ready so that was a good bonus! My room was lovely and comfortable and I had a massive bathroom with a bath so that was a nice change especially when we had a chillier night! Breakfast was ok. A nice walk to the natural pools. Supermarket a minute or 2 down the street!

It was pretty noisy at night and early morning. There's a snack bar underneath (nice place) and opposite is an emergency depot where the staff on duty congregate outside chatting. I'm a light sleeper and forgot my earplugs! but if you are not it, will not be a problem. Also I think if the rooms had kettles /coffee making facilities it would be great but I see that's common on the islands from other places I've visited. Just personal preference but I think it would enhance people's stay. Maybe some info in the rooms about the island, tour operators, transport options etc would be good. I was island hopping on a last minute thing so no research or little done prior as backpacking, so this would have been useful info to have at my disposal, some proper local knowledge!

The room was simple,but very clean.The host,Filipa was really nice and kind. Velas is very lovely town.We enjoyed staying there and Sao Jorge was our favourite island.
