We stayed at Guest House Lulu before starting our hike to Roshka the next morning, and it was the perfect place to spend the night.
The drive there was beautiful, with no traffic, and when we arrived, dinner was already prepared for us. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and the crisp white bed linen made it especially comfortable. The best part was the peaceful atmosphere – nothing but birds singing and fresh mountain air.
Our hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. We also booked dinner and breakfast, and everything was delicious, homemade, and served in generous portions. We couldn't even finish it all! As a lovely surprise, they treated us to homemade white wine at dinner, and it was genuinely excellent.
There is convenient parking right in front of the house.
The only thing to keep in mind is that the bathroom is shared and accessed from outside. In warmer weather it's not an issue, but on a chilly morning the walk to the shower can be quite refreshing!
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend Guest House Lulu to anyone exploring the area.

Das kleine Dorf Barisakho im unteren Khevsureti liegt etwas über 1400 m hoch an der Straße, die nach Shatili führt.
Das Gästehaus von Lulu und Georgi liegt nicht weit von dieser Straße. Allerdings war der Ort z.Zt. der Reise Ende Mai von Tiflis-Didube nicht direkt mit Marschrutki-Minibussen erreichbar, sondern man mußte erst bis Dusheti fahren und dort einen weiteren Minibus besteigen. Von Dusheti konnte man nur einmal am Tag nach Barisakho fahren.
Der Ausblick auf die bewaldeten Berge von der Terrasse des obersten Stocks des Hauses, wo die Gästezimmer sind, ist grandios. Das Haus ist ruhig gelegen. Die Gastgeberin Lulu hat sich, was das Frühstück und Abendessen anging, nach den Wünschen des Gastes gerichtet und immer reichlich aufgetischt.
Wenn auch Russisch und Georgisch nicht im Bereich meiner sprachlichen Möglichkeiten liegt, so konnte man sich mit Lulu aus einem Gemisch aus Englisch, Französisch und des Übersetzungsprogramms auf dem Handy gut verständigen.
Lulu und Georgi waren in jeder Beziehung hilfsbereit, den Aufenthalt in der Gegend so angenehm und interessant wie möglich zu gestalten.
Wenn man mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln in Khevsureti und Pshavi unterwegs ist, dann bietet sich die Übernachtung in Lulus Gästehaus auf dem Rückweg etwa von Shatili an oder natürlich auch, wenn man gar nicht so weit ins obere Khevsureti fahren will oder kann oder die Gegend erwandern will.
Ich werde hoffentlich noch einmal in die Gegend reisen und dann gerne wieder in Lulus Gästehaus übernachten.
Die Verkehrsverbindungen mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln - aber das ist eben in ländlichen Gebieten in Deutschland auch kaum anders.

Lovely stay! The host is very nice and the room was great - we enjoyed the living room and garden a lot! The food was very delicious too. We stayed two nights during our cycling trip. The host speaks a little French and English, which was great. Can very much recommend!
