Travelling from Canada, this was a wonderful hotel! Was able to check in early and rent the bikes to get around. Very close to the bus stop as well!

This room was good in terms of what we paid for it but was quite small. We had three single beds in our room but were unable to open our luggage unless they were on our beds, which I know isn’t unusual for Japan. I think we were spoilt with our other apartments in other locations around Japan that were quite spacious.
I didn’t like that the toilet was in the bathroom, purely from a smells point of view. And if someone woke up early to shower, it sounded like they were showering with the door open as it was super loud. Would be great if the door was solid or had some soundproofing done. It was a bit of a hike to the nearest station but we knew this when we booked. We didn’t want to be in the heart of Kyoto as we felt it was be too noisy and busy so this location was good in terms of being a really quiet area.

The hotel was safe and very quiet. Except for check in we didn’t see the staff but could walk to transportation. Imperial palace was very close.
