The main strength of this apartment is that it is situated excellently, right in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, 5 minutes from Plaça de Catalunya and 3 minutes from the Cathedral.
Despite the fact, that they could not provide access to the apartment before the time indicated on Booking, which would have suited us better, they were there to hand us the keys at the earliest time indicated on booking. As such, they kept their promises, which was Ok for us.
Probably due to the fact that it was towards the end of the season, the apartment was "lived" here and there. As such, a water boiler was present but did not work (though we could heat water on the stove), a drawer in the kitchen was broken (annoying but not terrible) and some sideboards were lose or missing (but there were enough others).
What was a bit regrettable was that, despite it being overall clean, there were some hairs here and there that did not belong to anyone from our family. There were also some stains on the bedsheets that seemed not to have gone out at washing, but they still disturbed us when having to sleep in them.
All in all, Ok for up to 6 people and the excellent location can compensate for the little flaws.
A positive was certainly also the air conditioning that helped us sleep well.

The location in the middle of the Gothic Quarter was the absolute selling point! Shopping, public transport, a grocery store directly across, and cafés and restaurants everywhere made this apartment perfect for a Barcelona visit.
It was quiet, safe, good AC, comfy beds, spacious, and relatively clean. There was a small elevator in the house, which made it easier to get our bags upstairs.
Poor communication and organization with those responsible was hard on us. Late check-in at 5 p.m. and no possibility to store luggage is no minor inconvenience for travelers. We had to pay extra to store our bags in a locker (30€ for 2 big lockers), and then first approx an hour before official check-in, it was written that we needed the tourist tax in cash (and passports) to check in.
We requested early check-in far before our trip, but no clear answers. We waited early in front of the gate on the shopping street in the hot sun (just in case), and called and texted to no avail. At 5 p.m. no one showed, yet we were unable to leave or look around in between. The polite non-English-speaking cleaning lady arrived first at 5:40! Her friendliness didn't make up for our wait.
We were entrusted one single key to enter for our party of 4.
We entered the apartment to a terrible smell, which we assumed came from the AC and eventually dissipated after a few hours.
There were no instructions for anything, including WiFi.
Half a roll of TP per bathroom. Empty soap dispenser in downstairs bath. No extra garbage bags to be found anywhere. Not enough bath towels for our party of 4. The kitchen cabinets were falling apart. The freezer was caked with a thick sheet of ice. The electric water kettle didn't work. No kitchen towels nor paper towels. There wasn't a single coffee capsule provided, nor salt nor similar item at all. Other than dishwashing soap and sponges, we were forced to purchase all of our own basics across the street within an hour after check-in!
The sheet on one bed was full of long dark hairs and dark smudges (which we photographed).
We attempted to communicate our complaints with those responsible, but instead of an apology or solution, we were told that everything was good and clean and provided for our "convenience" by their "professional" cleaning service. Unbelievable!

Perfectly good for the purpose, fully central but silent and cozy. Not very modern, but we had everything we needed. Thank you!
We had some issues making kitchen machines work, but maybe this is just us.

Bellissima posizione e bellina e accogliente anche la casa
Con grande sorpresa abbiamo scoperto solo una volta arrivati che il check-in si poteva fare solo dopo le 17.00 e che non sarebbe stato possibile nemmeno depositare i bagagli. Casa pulita ma con molta polvere sotto i letti. L’annuncio di Booking diceva che era previsto nel prezzo anche il sevizio taxi dall’aeroporto alla casa. Il tassista ci ha anche contattato il giorno prima per avvisarci ma quando siamo arrivati non c’era nessuno ad aspettarci. Ricontattato il tassista ha risposto che era stato assegnato ad altro servizio e ci ha invitato a fare un reclamo.
