The property itself has lots of character and is packed with little extras to provide comfort and amusement. The local beach is stunningly beautiful in all and any weathers, perfect for our wee dog. The barn was great for dripping outdoor clothing and the central heating system and stove got us dried out and warm quickly. The kitchen was very well equipped.
This is not a complaint but we really enjoy cooking and although there were plenty of utensils, fridge and cooker spaces, we struggled with worktop space. Maybe declutter the kitchen space a wee bit?

We felt like we were right in the community. It was wonderful to see wild red deer from our property. Marie is a wonderful host and an excellent communicator, who gave us lots of useful local tips, i.e. the Raider Trailer food truck at Reef Beach. She provided a generous welcome basket and has made the property really comfortable. The house is very well equipped, with everything one would need. We found this to be an ideal base and were very happy here.

Wonderful home away from home. Perfectly furnished for a confortable & cozy stay. Fully equipped kitchen that we enjoyed using when eating in. Plenty condiments provided plus generous welcome basket that we also enjoyed. We all slept very well and enjoyed having the two washrooms, very practical. Marie is a gem of a host. Wrote in advance to give us local info on events, and welcomed us warmly upon arrival. Explained how things work (tv, wood-burning stove, etc.). Towels provided for the beach and binoculars really appreciated! We spotted deer up on the cliff. The cottage is near two beautiful beaches and an art studio we enjoyed visiting. All in all, ideally situated to visit Lewis as well as the beaches, distillery and fabulous coast line in Harris.
