The property was beautiful, clean and well maintained on a daily basis by housekeeping. Rose, Lorena and Susy were super helpful and very responsive at all times! They even surprised me with beautiful birthday decorations in the room.
The property and staff were great! I only wish the boat shuttle ran a bit later than 10pm.

Wat een geweldige ervaring! Alle medewerkers zijn super attent en behulpzaam. Het ontvangst was ongeëvenaard voor onze maatstaven. Na aankomst wordt je in een appgroep geplaatst, zodat je vervoer van en naar de locatie of strand kan regelen. Als je iets nodig hebt zet je het in de app en wordt het geregeld.
Helemaal niets. Het hotel staat er nu een jaar en ze zijn nog bezig met de uitbreidingen. Tijdens ons verblijf hebben we hier 0 last gehad van de bouwwerkzaamheden. De prijs/kwaliteit is top!

We reserved the room that had the view of the lagoon and it was amazing! The right angle balcony provided enough space for all of us to have privacy and have an amazing view of the lagoon. I loved the endless windows, it made the rooms so bright, and you felt like you could relax instantly.
I must say that the holiday started off so well, we were picked up from the airport and taken to the dock. The journey was smooth and we didn’t have to do too much thinking which is exactly what you need when you have been travelling for 24hrs. The welcome cocktails were amazing. Generally the team were great, attentive, and easy to talk to. The breakfast is amazing and worth trying at least once.
You don’t get tired of the views at all, and secret beach is just 14 mins away. What a treat!
We will truly miss truly miss the cat. Our stay at Aruna played a part in enjoying Belize.
I would like to say again that we enjoyed our time here and Aruna has the potential to be 10/10 but they are not there yet. I think this review will help other people and we wish were told some of these things beforehand. (Keep in mind we were here for 9 nights).
1. Water - the first three days of our trip we had issues with running water in our room. Staff were quick to try and fix this. We didn’t tell them by day two/three because it became annoying. Unfortunately the water stopped running while one of us were in the shower. I say this is dangerous because this happened to a senior woman, and if we didn’t quickly help her, it wouldn’t have been a great situation.
2. Broken locks - this was frustrating. Almost everyday we had an issue closing the entrance door. We eventually spoke to the staff and they had the locks replaced that day (which is great). But it made us question Aruna’s attention to safety.
3. Locked doors. We could only open one door to the balcony (and we weren’t given any explanation as to why, other than they couldn’t open the doors). This meant that the bathroom ended up being the warmest room which never feels great after a shower. It felt like there was no ventilation. The window did not help.
4. Beds - if you are hoping to fit three people in here you can because of the space but not the beds. The sofa bed felt like concrete. Which you may get used to but some people don’t.
5. Cleaning. The cleaning could be better. I noticed the cleaner didn’t clean the shower area, didn’t change the mats left near the beds, and didn’t change the sheets for the sofa bed.
6. Breakfast - considering how much Aruna charges people per night you’d think breakfast would be included or provide discounts but they don’t.
7. Construction - they should make people aware that a small construction site will be active during their stay. If we had opted for the canal view we would have felt slighted.
