I chose this hotel for the swimming pool, given my stay was midsummer in Texas, and it did not disappoint. Beautiful pool and garden area with a great view over the surrounding areas. Plenty of shade, (although some booths had to be booked in advance), plus sunscreen and water freely available, there was also bar and food service. My room was very nice, with a wonderful view, comfortable bed, coffee maker, fridge, luxury bathroom. The staff were all so very friendly.
My great view over the pool was jaded somewhat on the Saturday evening when a DJ turned up and the garden area had a party with Houston's young and beautiful turning up. Thankfully, the thumping music stopped at 10pm. Not sure if this was a one-off or a regular thing.
The hotel is also a bit isolated from shops and food options. The Whole Foods market was about a 25 minute walk away. I found out afterwards that the hotel has a car service, so I may have been able to ask for a ride there.
Small issues like there being no tea bags, no cocoa, no tea spoons, no milk (only powdered creamer) felt a bit cheap in such a nice hotel.
