BoHo Hotel Budapest - Small Luxury Hotels

Everything, from start to finish was perfect! We were very kindly welcomed by the hotel staff, who helped us store our luggage upon early arrival. Additionally, they provided us with a free ticket for public transportation, which was a very pleasant bonus. The rooms were very spacious, with a large bed, a living area, and a huge bathroom with a shower, a bath, double sinks, good lighting, etc. The complementary coffee they provided in the room was very good! Finally, the food was exceptional. There is a large continental breakfast available with a choice of fresh ingredients every day. You can clearly see how the team takes the effort to prepare fresh meals every day, and you can taste it as well! You can also ask for freshly prepared omelets/scrambed/sunny eggs with a selection of toppings and a salad, which was delicious and I've had every day in a different variation. From all the hotels I've visited in the past, this has one of the best breakfasts I've experienced. In particular I must complement chef Gyula (sorry in case I got the name wrong). I've had very nice chats with him every morning as he greeted me, asked how my day was, how my sleep was, etc. He then proposed to prepare me my breakfast and bring it to my table and just brought me the most delicious meals. The day we left, which was early in the morning, he even prepared us breakfast to-go so we don't stay hungry at the airport, at 06:30 in the morning!!!! His approach to me made the stay feel more like home rather than a hotel stay. I am sure that if I would meet him on the street, I would go get some beers with him! He definitely deserves a raise or another form of appreciation, as he took my stay from a 9/10 to a solid 10/10 single-handedly.

Nothing really, but if one thing should be said, its the lighting in the bathroom mirror. My partner found it difficult to apply her makeup in the lighting. This is really nitpicking though.

Great location - everywhere is within a short walk or taxi ride / bus ride. Friendly staff, and excellent facilities. Would highly recommend.

Just a few minor things: * Breakfast was quite expensive and extra. * Room cost was more than what was agreed with Booking.com due to something to do with exchange rate. The manager kindly resolved it but I would have spent 30 euros more than expected if I hadn't noticed it. * Decor in communal parts dark and gloomy - such is the fashion these days for some reason - but clean and new.

I did appreciate the upgrade offered by the hotel. The upgraded room was genuinely beautiful, particularly the bathroom. Unfortunately, the positive impression created by the room was considerably undermined by the housekeeping and service issues that followed. Breakfast was perfectly adequate, although hardly memorable. The nearest metro station is a fairly long walk, particularly if arriving with substantial luggage. There is, however, a bus stop approximately two minutes away, which is considerably more convenient.

The room was booked for single or double occupancy, yet it was supplied with only one face towel, one bath towel and one set of toiletries. I might have understood this had it been clearly presented as part of an environmental initiative. What was less understandable was that, once an item had been used, it was not replenished during subsequent housekeeping visits. On 2 occasions, I had to contact the front desk to request replacement toiletries and towels. Instead, I was told that housekeeping had already finished for the day and that I should come downstairs to collect the items myself. One front desk staff member even explained that she was working alone that evening. When I eventually went down, there were visibly two staff members at the desk. The front desk staff rarely conveyed the warmth or attentiveness one would normally associate with a smaller property. A simple smile or greeting would have made a difference.
