About this house rental
Nestled in Saint George Island, this charming house for $260 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Property sits just over the dune line road (East Gorrie Drive) from the lovely and quieter EAST END beaches. Great fishing and uncrowded areas for relaxing in the sand. Excellent for small families or couples (Four person maximum) who can enjoy separate private spaces indoors and out. Two master bedrooms with brand new king beds and luxurious pillow top mattresses. This second floor cottage has been recently remodeled and redecorated. Lovely (shared) pool and gorgeous gulf views from large picture windows in the front room as well as the master bedroom. Great star gazing from the uncovered Front Deck. Large furnished screened porch with seating and dining area. The swimming pool is shared with two other cottages but the overall properties are each very private and do not get in the way of each other as they all have their own private exclusive outdoor spaces. 😎 you will be hard pressed to find a better overall spot for your vacation dollars. Beach wagon, 8ft umbrella and folding beach chairs on site for guest use. Fast high-speed internet with wifi speed tests > 500 mbps often seen.

Stayed at the Redfish from Thursday through Monday. It was perfect for our small family.
Nicely decorated with all items you might need over a week stay (cooking utensils, dishes, microwave, coffee maker, vacuum, iron, etc…). The rooms were actually larger than they appear in the pictures. Quite and close to the beach. I would recommend and would stay here again!!

The house was exactly as described and what we expected. Comfortable beds, clean, just about everything we needed was there, and the Piggly-Wiggly was nearby. We didn't use the pool, but it looked nice and we would have used it if the weather had been warmer. Tenants downstairs had two dogs, but we barely heard them and were not at all disturbed by them. Recommended!

This place was fabulous. Quiet location and literally steps from the beach. The outdoor balcony had water views and a great place to start and end the day. The beach access was across the street. We had bikes delivered and never moved the car after arriving. First time on St George Island and already planning next trip!

Very close to the beach and near restaureants. Nlce deck with view of Gulf. I like to walk about 4 miles a day so having quick access to the beach is a plus for me.

The home has a fully equipped kitchen just bring food and seasonings. Lots of chairs for the beach. We enjoyed the pool on days that the gulf was too rough also enjoyed the beautiful porch. We had such a relaxing stay.

Property is somewhat dated but with great renovations and location. For the price, one of the best places that we have stayed on the island. Great checkin, great communication, and super clean. We have already reserved for the same week next year !!

Our first time visiting Saint George Island and it was perfect. We were hesitant at first when we showed up and the pool was already occupied by the people sharing the house with us. We only had one day by the pool since there was always someone there and there was only 3 lounge chairs available. The people sharing the rental were so nice and it made us more comfortable with our stay though. Also, we came for the beach so we were perfectly fine without the pool days. We spent most of days at the beach and it was the perfect distance away. The beach was very private across from this rental. It was more “populated” further away so I loved that we had our own space. I loved the screened in porch where I did most of my reading until sunset! We never had a problem with anything while we were there. The house was just what we needed & they provided anything we might need. A perfect getaway and relaxing trip. We are already planning our next trip. Thank you for such a stress free week :)

Clean, comfy and located just across a little traveled road with beach access very close. Outdoor spaces were amazing and well supplied except for food and clothing. My only criticism was that 4 people had 4 wash clothes so I washed every day.

Ideal location for beach walk. Dog enjoyed laying on deck and porch area. Had a place under the deck to lock up bikes and keep out of weather. Would like to rent again but was unable to.

Redfish was perfect for our getaway. Plenty of space for two couples. There has been a house built on opposite side of road, so ocean view is somewhat obstructed.
Screened in porch and front deck provided extra space with great views. I realize it was ‘off season’, but feel cottage could have been stocked with a few more essentials. Beach access was close. Ideal for morning/evening beach walks. We will stay here again, no doubt!!

This property is fraudulently represented by both its photos and its description. It does not have the beautiful gulf view as in the deceptive photos. It is also not a cottage but 3 apartments made out of 1 house. It is so NOT what renters are led to believe that we asked for a partial refund after discussing situation with VRBO and they suggested asking for it. The owner then decided we were “extortionists and even cussed us using the “F” word regularly. There is so much wrong with this rental, it’s false representation and the very unprofessional and unethical owner, I don’t have enough space here to elaborate. All I can say is we are 60 yr old married couple and this was the worst experience either of us has had in our life !!!!

I enjoyed the house and had a very relaxing week here . Having the beach just steps away was great , and I loved the ocean views from the upstairs covered porch .
My only suggestion is to stick a few more basics in the kitchen - for example some salt and pepper , Saran Wrap, a scrub brush for cleaning pots , some freezer bags , etc . I have never stayed in a VRBO home that did not have this . Those small things are a nice touch for guests away from home.
Otherwise it was a great place and I can’t wait to return . Thanks

We enjoyed the apartment because of the location. We had a condo RIGHT IN FRONT OF US so it wasn't the view that was on the listing. I enjoy swimming at night and I purposely rented this apartment because of the pool... the pool was dark the entire time we were there. The pool guy came the last day of our stay and the light still was not fixed. Overall not a bad apartment, the beach access is close to the apartment that was so nice to be able to walk quickly to the beach.

This is the perfect setup for extended families who want to vacation together. You can stay in the same place, but still have your own space! Redfish (the upper level unit) is one of 3 separate units in the same building, and there is a shared pool for the 3 units. The screened in porch on the upper level is wonderful. Easy access to the beach, and far enough away from the most congested part of the island.

We did not realize that the property had three rental properties at this location. The pictures in listing are no longer accurate as there is construction across the stree that blocks the view of the gulf as shown. The property was very clean and well appointed except for the screened in porch. It did not have good chairs at the table for eating or playing games and the lounge chairs could only have two to really see the gulf. The outside deck had really good high chairs to view the gulf.

Charming beach cottage with a really nice screened in porch and a small private pool. It rained while we were there, so we weren’t able to use the pool or spend much time at the beach, but the screened in porch gave us a nice place to gather outside anyway. The cottage is older (part of its charm), but clean and nicely furnished (with some impressive original art!). We didn’t realize this from the listing, but there are two other units on the property, so it would be ideal for a group of friends traveling together. Allan was an excellent host, extremely responsive, and checked in on us when he suspected Internet was out after a storm, which we appreciated. We were excited that it was pet friendly! Location is across a quiet street from the beach, town (and fun places to eat/drink) is a short walk away, and it’s a gorgeous bike ride down to the end of the island where the state Park is. We had a great stay!
