Clive went above and beyond being an amazing host by driving us to Bath RUH as our visit was to see my very poorly brother in hospital. He mentioned he was a paramedic for 35 years, I bet he wished he hadn't because we were all asking him health questions including my 90 year old mother. We couldn't have wished for a better host and accommodation for what was a stressful visit. He is truly one of life's good guys.

Clive was so, so kind! He helped us find a great place to eat dinner (The New Inn—the best meal out we’ve had in England!!) and his breakfast (fresh bread and fruit salad AND pastries and yogurt…and of course coffee/tea/juice and cereal) was wonderful! And he shared map info that was very helpful. FYI- as drivers unfamiliar with English roads and house signs, we’ve had a difficult time all vacation finding our places. In case this will be you, too— this place is 1 Friary; there’s a larger sign on the street next to them that says a lot of numbers on Friary and it says ‘private drive’ - that’s not the street you want. You want the one next to that one :) we were so perplexed we stopped a very polite young man on his way home from school to ask for help. So grateful for him!!

We arrived pretty late but still got a warm welcome from our lovely host. This beautiful property is very remote, which we loved, and so peaceful. The room was spacious, comfortable and the whole place was immaculate. Massive bed, which, with a 6’4” husband with arms and legs like a gibbon, was heaven. The breakfast was gorgeous, homemade bread and muffins, cereals, fruit and a very decent cup of tea made for a brilliant start to the day. Would definitely recommend Westwoods for a stay in this stunning area. We know the area quite well as I have family nearby, but had we not, I’m sure Clive would have been a fountain of knowledge and any stay would be enhanced by this information. We would not hesitate to book again. Thank you for a lovely stay x
The fact we had to leave!!! 😢 We now have to buy a super king bed and a bread maker!!! 🙄
