Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return. The room was beautiful, the property was well maintained, and most of the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Our only disappointment was the check-in experience when we arrived a little early. We understood that check-in was not available until 3:00 p.m., but some of our questions about the property and room requests were met with very brief responses. We were hoping for a bit more hospitality and information about the amenities while we waited.
Fortunately, our experience improved significantly at check-in. We were welcomed warmly, received a lovely room, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The spa, BBQ area, and lakefront setting were all great additions. Aside from the initial interaction, everyone we encountered was kind and accommodating.
We loved our room and had a very enjoyable visit overall.

Early-summer weekend visit, and we’ll be back. We cannot recommend this place enough. Family of 4 (with two young children) had two bedrooms plus a living room and ¾ kitchen. Amazing long weekend stay. Very comfortable and homey, felt more like a timeshare condo. Owner and all those who work there were kind, helpful, polite, and accommodating. Keep in mind that there aren’t any stairs, and if you’re not acclimated to elevation, you might find yourself a little winded after carrying your luggage.
One of our group was celebrating a birthday, and they definitely treated us with some special treatment and gifts to celebrate the event. Completely unexpected and appreciated!
Bring food for the kitchen, particularly coffee supplies if that’s your thing. Good size fridge and induction counter top cooker. Tap water here is delicious.
Only wish the beds were in better shape. Either the mattresses or the box springs were a bit too soft or well-used, so we found ourselves migrating toward the middle of the bed throughout the night. But that won’t stop us from returning!

Our stay at the Heidelberg Inn in the June Lake Loop was amazing and one we will never forget. The location is perfect — walking distance to June Lake and Gull Lake, and right across the street from Tiger Bar, June Lake Brewery, June Pie, and Balanced Rock Grill & Cantina. There is also a general store, deli, and many nearby hiking trails.
The Inn itself was very relaxing with amazing staff. Check in time was a strict 3pm. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The lobby was one of our favorite parts with a huge centrally located fireplace surrounded by chairs, making it a perfect place to unwind. The Inn also has a lot of history with photos throughout the walls showcasing celebrity visitors from the past. Coffee and water station available as well.
They made every night fun with movie nights, ice cream night, and root beer float night for guests and families. The game room downstairs had pool, ping pong, and darts, plus a large DVD selection you could borrow for your room. BBQs, Jacuzzi and sauna on site were a great bonus.
For fishermen, they even have a fish cleaning room with sinks, knives, freezer bags, and freezer storage.
Our room #102 was perfect for our Anniversary trip. One-bedroom suite with kitchenette, dining table, Keurig coffee maker, and balcony with a peek-a-boo view of June Lake and Carson Peak. We made many special memories here and highly recommend the Heidelberg Inn.
