We only stayed one night at the end of a long, busy exhausting trip. This was exactly what we needed to unwind. This was by far the nicest, friendliest and most relaxing hotel we stayed at in all of the Açores. I only wish we had more time to enjoy ourselves here.
It’s a small boutique hotel. We stayed in a “unique” room which was a renovated wine cellar (the property is a renovated/converted winery). It was clean and beautiful, if not a little dark. We enjoyed sitting out on the shared patio on lounges. The infinity pool was picture perfect. The restaurant was delicious - we ate there for breakfast (complimentary but full table service) and dinner. The staff was welcoming and inviting. The welcome platter was a nice touch. There are beautiful, busy beaches within walking distance as well as a coastal walk with a natural pool and ocean entry point.
Just FYI, the ocean entry here is rocky - I’d recommend water shoes if interested in going in. This hotel is probably suited best for adults without kids. And the immediate area is very residential with any downtown area several miles away, so if walking around restaurants/shops is your thing, you may want to rent a car for a short drive.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing vacation.
This place clearly deserves and works hard to maintain its Michelin Key status!
