It was on the shore of Loch Lomond with a spectacular view
The female Manager of the Duck Bay hotel was abrupt and rude. I had had no notification of the £600 upfront housekeeping deposit, she refused to give me a copy of the hotel rules policy which would state this. She also refused to state what this could be used for as ‘the list could cover anything’ … which was exactly fear. She blamed Booking.com for not making me aware whilst stating it was Duck Bay Hotel’s policy for the cottage. I had to report black mould in the only bathroom in the property and although I reported it within half an hour of entering the cottage, as check-in was not until 4pm and the housekeeping staff then leave for the day it was not seen until the next morning.If anyone else is going to stay there please take washing powder and do not expect to be able to change the bedding if anything happens, the same manager advised the cottage is not the responsibility of the Hotel staff when it comes to changing towels or bedding even though we had booked for 3 nights. There is no extra bedding there so it’s off, washed, and back on the same day. £1000 should surely guarantee some cleaning during the stay???? The duvet cover was also ripped and the kitchen cabinets are worn. Lots of photos were taken to ensure we were not then charged for these faults.
The Manager is in the wrong profession. She showed no hospitality what so ever.
