Elevator and clean! Very friendly and courteous staff.
When the room is fully occupied there is no room to put a closed suitcase or then open it and get your stuff. Lockers below bed are impossible to get to.

I really liked my stay at Boavista 83!
I was in a female dorm, the room was clean, quiet and had a great view to the street. The beds have amazing blackout curtains, so good in fact that I slept in a few times because it was so cozy:D Each bed has a light, an outlet and 2 cabinets - small one inside of the bunk and big one under the beds.
I also liked that the shower/toilet is exclusive to the room and not shared with other rooms, that provided additional privacy. The rooms are also being cleaned daily.
There are activities every night - I didn't get to participate in any but I saw people playing games on games night a few times.
The staff was also very helpful every time I had a question, and they even helped me call a taxi to the airport when I was struggling to get my own for 20 minutes (btw highly recommend getting their help, mine cost 14 EUR which was about the same as any uber/bolt you could get, and it came very fast, I think it was an official/licensed city taxi too).
The location is also good, just a 15-20 min walk to Praca do Comercio, close to Timeout market, Cais do Sodre train station and the trams, so you can get around easily.
Overall, I had a great stay, and this was easily one of the best hostels I've been to! Muito obrigada:)
There were a few nitpicks, one is that it'd be great to have some kind of rag/cloth for the bathrooms to wipe the floor after the shower, since water inevitably gets on the floor and it becomes dirty much quicker.
Other thing is that there is no kitchen and you're generally not allowed to eat in the common area on the 1st floor (I assume because of the cleaning concerns and perhaps the fact there's a restaurant connected right to the hostel) - not sure if this is fixable but the possibility to eat at a table rather than on your bed would be perfect.
The common area toilet also seems to get a lot of use and it's not in the best shape, so perhaps it would make sense to clean it a bit more often.
Other than that, I was really happy with my stay and would definitely recommend it to girls on solo trips:)

Super schlichte aber gemütliche Zimmer. Hab mich in meinem Bett sehr wohl gefühlt. Hab auch viele liebe Leute kennengelernt.
Die Reinigungskräfte kamen teilweise schon um 10.30, wo ich noch im Bett war. Die Lobby roch etwas unangenehm.

Noisey - rooms not insulated well. Heard pipes of toilets and showers really loudly in my room.
