As with many local bodies of water, Lake Carmi does have sporadic algae blooms. They are a natural occurrence and out of our control. If this occurs during your stay the traveler information book lists several other bodies of water close by for water activities as well as other activities in the area. Refunds will not be given due to algae blooms.

I have stayed at many places over the past few years and this location by far exceeded my expectations. We tend to travel with extra things based off from past experiences and we didn't need to use them. The fireplace at night was a beautiful touch after a long day out on the water and docks. I loved seeing an art piece made out of rulers from different places in Vermont and seeing my home town. I traveled with my grandchildren and they absolutely loved this experience. This home was stunning and I truly hope that we can visit again soon. I highly recommend staying here

Enjoyed our stay in the cabin. The cabin was clean, quiet and had everything we needed. Enjoyed watching the birds, drinking coffee in the morning in the sitting area that overlooks the water. Very peaceful. Had a large yard for my dog which is always a bonus. Would definitely book again. We would have loved to get out in the kayaks but time did not allow us to do so. Maybe next time. I can’t say enough good things about Gina our host. She is a wonderful host and very quick to respond.

Great location: quiet area right on the waterfront. Cozy, warm atmosphere inside the cottage. Kitchen had everything we needed. Kayaks, canoe, rafts available. Attentive host (didn't need to contact her). We had a wonderful time & would definitely visit again.

We had a nice week at this cottage. The AC worked great, Wifi was strong, the kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom was well stocked as well. Reading a book with my morning coffee right on the water was lovely. The hammock is practically over the lake which is awesome, and the hummingbirds were at the feeder while I relaxed in it. Another cute touch was the paint by number canvas set up on an easel for guests to pitch in on. Fun and relaxing! The proximity to Canada was a huge plus for us. Just over the border is the cutest little town. Sit on the deck for lunch at the restaurant and don't miss the bakery. We also did day trips to the Granby Zoo and Montreal. My husband and son enjoyed fishing off the dock. Gina was very responsive by messenger.Three bummers: the ad listed laundry when I booked it and there was none (as has now been updated.) You can't drink the water but there was no note/indication other than putting two and two together with the water cooler in the kitchen and a little one in the bathroom. The lake has the algae bloom more than I realized. That's on me for not researching the lake more but was a definite bummer. Hopefully the state is able to rectify it with the plans they have in place for the fall, because otherwise this cottage is so lovely and peaceful.
