Downtown/ central city location and the self catering aspect of the apartment.
Poor communication and feedback from the owner after requesting and ironing board. The apartment was equipped with laundry facilities however an iron without an ironing board to iron clothes on was a pointless exercise. Apart from the portable aircon unit there were not any instructions or manuals on how to operate any of the appliances. No book offering local information was available. Insufficient lighting throughout the apartment . It felt dark due to blinds down to give privacy from adjacent onlooking apartments and the buildings fire escape exit door . Several light fittings were not working either. Also we found on our return to the apartment after doing a quick trip to the local shops soon after our arrival one of the windows to the terrace/ balcony had been left open. Because of the closed blinds we were not aware initially of this issue. The washroom humidity fan kept running constantly throughout the day and night. Suspect a problem with humidity control sensor here. We did raise the issue with the host only to be told to flick the switch on the mains power board. However this left us without any means of lighting to the washroom and front door access during the night, not ideal . The kitchen utensils were tired and of a poor quality. The few bowls that were available were found dirty and either too big or too small and unfit for purpose. Overall disappointed and could go on about more issues hence the negative review.

Easy to get in with code, got an electronic tag to use once in room. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was really well stocked with cutlery, tableware and pots/pans. Some essential items provided, such as sugar, salt, tea, coffee filters and more. Plenty of clean towels available. Washing machine, dryer and fridge were good and looked quite new.
Shower did not drain well, stood up to my ankles in water while showering. Sink in kitchen was leaking, vessel placed underneath to catch water. This made the area near the sink somewhat unpleasant smelling. Dishwasher was broken (not an issue for me as I was alone, but I can imagine this could be an issue for larger groups of people). Fan in bathroom came on one evening and I couldn't manage to turn it off, which meant I didn't sleep much that night. I only realised in the morning how to switch it off by resorting to Google - would be good to have clear instructions on how to use the humidity controller. The sofa was stained. I got a room which was quite dark as it was only on the third floor and the top curtains needed to be drawn - there was a building right opposite. Some of the things listed here may not be end of the world issues, but with the high price charged per night the experience was rather underwhelming.
