The location is perfect, can walk to town and walk to the beach if you are up for it. The house itself was beautiful, exactly like the pictures. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. Ample space for a large group for dinner, the appliances were top of the line. The kitchen and mudroom were perfect, the laundry tower worked well and was easy to use. There were supplies (paper towels, soap, shampoo, trash bags, saran wrap, some kitchen staples, etc.) available. The kitchen had ample plates, bowls, utensils. The beds were comfortable, there was ample space for our group, the kids room decor was fun and cute. The dual AC zones made the temperature comfortable upstairs and down. Wifi and TV access was easy. Instructions on getting into the house and cleanup from the house were clear and easy.
The backyard was an eyesore and had a yellow jacket nest visible and active. The owners were notified and were willing to take care of it while we were there but we declined. There was no landscaping in the back at all, and honestly this detracted from how nice the house was. Looking outside from the kitchen and the living room was just a huge disappointment. We didn't go out on the deck because of the yellow jacket nest and the fact that it just looked like we would be sitting in an abandoned yard. The price could have been lowered based on the condition of the backyard. A few points for improvement: Kitchen: have plastic food containers for leftovers, augment number of cooking pots with lids, have ample serving bowls. Living: add some table lamps in the living room so people can read in that room. Bedrooms: Add plug-in table lamps in master bedroom; we couldn't get the battery operated ones to keep a charge. Outside: landscape the backyard. Even putting river rocks out there with separate seating areas or a fire pit would have been better than what it was.
