The staff were really pleasant and helpful.
The room was decorated really nicely and very clean.
The location was great as we were visiting family who lived close by, we enjoyed our overnight stay.
The hotel doesn’t have any staff overnight, I thought a security guard would be there overnight, we were just left a telephone number in case of emergency.
The traffic noise outside in the morning was quite loud, but I suppose this was unavoidable.
I would advise the proprietor to put a small bin in the bathroom, and a bath mat as the sink is very small and tended to splash water all over the floor.

1. Finding the pub was easy and it was very central to Shifnal.
2. There was plenty of car parking.
3. At first view, although quite basic, the room seemed to be well presented, clean and tidy.
4. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, e.g. we reported a problem with the sink in our bathroom and it was successfully dealt with immediately.
5. We found the bed to be quite comfortable.
6. The room was above the pub, but we were not disturbed by any noise at all.
7. We were able to come and go as we pleased.
1. Although it was partly our own fault for not picking up on it when making the booking, the reservation turned out to be room only. There was no breakfast, not even something simple, so we had to go out and buy some. For us, that made the price we had paid for our accommodation a bit high.
2. Although the room had seemed well presented, on the second day we went to use the shower and noticed that it did not seem to have been cleaned since previous occupants had used it so we didn't use it.
3. As we were above the pub and there appeared to be only one way down, we were surprised there were no instructions posted in the room regarding what to do in case of a fire.
4. There were small things that could be done to improve the room, e.g. some hooks to hang up jackets. more hangers for clothes and a spoon to help make coffee.
