We booked Guesthouse Old House last minute while we were on the Mestia-Ushguli trek and it totally met our needs. The guesthouse is in a unique, historic stone building and is surrounded by stone towers. The beds were also comfy and we got a great night's sleep after exploring Ushguli.

We absolutely fell in love with this place. We were warmly greeted by Tamara, who was very kind and talkative to us with great English! This is a 700 year old house that is attached to a traditional Svaneti tower. As soon as you walk in you can feel how cozy and homey it is. The room is small but very cozy and there’s a heater in case it gets too cold. The bathroom down the hall is clean, large and with warm water. We were lucky to have their homemade dinner for 40 or 50 Lari per person (can’t remember exactly) and it was delicious and sooooo much food! (A bit heavy on the meat but if you’re a meat eater then it’s heaven). The location is perfect because you’re right in the middle of the old village and a 5 minute walk from the restaurants and bars on the other side of the river. There’s a beautiful view from the bedroom window. We were very sad that we could only stay one night but we really hope to return!

My best experience on the Mestia - Ushguli trek. This place is in the beautiful historic village in Ushguli
