The cottage was lovely & spacious for the 3 of us. and the location was great surrounded by beautiful countryside. It remained really cool during the heatwave and was well equipped with kitchenware, a hairdryer, lots of books about the local area, etc. There was space for a car on the road outside. The village had a few small shops, a fish & chip shop and a pub. There were supermarkets in Kendal (5 miles) and plenty of pubs & restaurants in Windermere (4 miles). There was a local bus service & a train station.
The shower did keep going cold which didn't matter during the heatwave, but wouldn't be good during colder months.

Clean, cosy and comfortable. Great location for what we needed and worked really well.
It was hard to tidy up properly on departure. There was a brush but no dustpan and the vacuum cleaner did not have any suction. Also couldn't find the controller for the fire (but the central heating was very effective).

Downstairs is not very sound proofed from the upstairs apartment
Apartment very cold when we arrived (14 degrees). Took a while to heat up. Would have been nice if heating had been on anticipating our arrival

Everything, very comfortable and well appointed. Well heated, beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you would need to fully self cater
Lots of useful information about the Lake District, there was a cupboard full of games, books to read, internet was very good.
Loved the addition of the electric log fire
Just a suggestion- a non slip mat for the bath as it was very slippery while using the shower or a grab rail
