About this cabin rental
October is the quiet secret up here.
Summer crowds are gone, ski season hasn't started, the aspens and black oaks go gold, and the trails are empty. Our remodeled 2-bedroom cabin sits on the still east end of Big Bear City, 15 minutes from the village and the lake, with easy Highway 38 access.
FALL, SPECIFICALLY
Peak color is usually mid to late October. Three decks and balconies off the bedrooms give you somewhere to sit with coffee and watch it happen, and Erwin Lake Park is a short walk for a leaf-crunching morning loop. Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest runs weekends from September 12 through November 8 at the Convention Center — Saturdays and Sundays in September and November, Friday through Sunday every weekend in October. It is a 15-minute drive from the cabin. Halloween in the village is genuinely fun if you're up for it.
TWO FIREPLACES, AND YOU WILL USE THEM
Nights drop into the 30s and 40s by mid-October. There are two indoor fireplaces — one downstairs, one upstairs — plus extra portable space heaters. This is the season the cabin was built for.
THE CABIN
Sleeps 6 in 2 bedrooms: a king in one, and a queen plus a twin day bed with a twin trundle in the other. 1.5 baths, walk-in shower, room-darkening shades. Full modern kitchen, laundry on site. Full coffee and tea station with drip, french press and electric kettle. Two big-screen TVs, a sound system, and a board game shelf for the long evenings. Fenced backyard with a picnic table and hammock, ringed with pines.

GOOD TO KNOW
EV charging is a NEMA outlet, not a Level 2 station. A queen air mattress is in the upstairs closet if you need an extra bed. The refrigerator door doesn't open fully; mountain weather has shifted the wall slightly, it still opens far enough for normal use, and it's shown in the photos.
Self check-in with a smart lock. We usually reply within the hour — most of our reviews mention it.

We had a wonderful family vacation at your place. Everything was perfect—the house was fully ready for our arrival, very clean and fresh. All bathrooms had both face towels and bath towels, and there were shampoos and shower gels provided as well. The kitchen also had everything we needed for cooking. The only thing missing was an electric kettle. Overall, we were completely satisfied with our stay. There were four of us (my wife, our two kids, and me), and we had a great time. Thank you!

The host was attentive and welcoming! The house is beautiful and ample room for 4 adults and a teenager. Great layout. Aaron had nice touches throughout. Will gladly stay here again!
