The place is amazing! Do yourself a favor and get dinner and breakfast service, it is such a unique experience: the dinner is served in the room, while breakfast is at the dining hall with a spectacular view. The gem of this place is the onsen, aka the public baths, there are four types and you can try all of them, because in the evening and in the morning male and female baths are switched. I had the most relaxing experience bathing in the outdoor onsen with a view to Mt. Fuji. The futons were surprisingly comfy and we had a good night sleep.
Not a disadvantage, just an FYI: strictly no tattoos in public baths, even covered with a sticker. Also, we checked out exactly at 11, so by the time we payed the outstanding fees (drinks with supper and private onsen), the souvenir shop with luggage forwarding closed and we had to go to 7 11. It's not a bad thing, just a piece of information.

One of the best hotel experiences I've had in my life, and will ever have. From the warm greeting at the door, to the person who served us food in our room, to the waves goodbye when leaving. We had such a mindful, beautiful time here and if we had all the money in the world, we would come back every year.

It was great food was great. I’m just not sure that people understand what they’re getting into when they go there.
The food was great. Can’t complain. I just don’t understand why they don’t let you wear a bathing suit in the spa. It’s the 21st-century now and we want the experience but not the actual experience.
