About this house rental
Enjoy up country Hilo at it's finest with a new, private home in a gated community. Our 1500' elevation makes a perfect cool, peaceful evening respite after a day of beach going, hiking at Volcano National Park and enjoying Hilo's dining and entertainment. The property features a distant ocean view, many fruit trees, aquaponics, gardens, plenty of animals including dogs, Angus cows, chickens and a macaw named Li'i! Interacting with the animals on our ranch is part of the property's charm.

The Broken Dog Ranch was better than we expected! It was peaceful, quiet, and felt like home. We were able to relax and get a good night rest after each day of exploring. It was clean and had everything we needed to cook meals. The farm fresh eggs and fruit were a treat and the cows, dogs, and birds were memorable. Our kids loved them all. The owners are great and we wish we could've stayed longer.

Our family had a wonderful stay. Debbie and Steve were friendly, helpful and responsive when we had any questions or issues. The house is lovely and the grounds are beautiful as well. Our boys enjoyed the farm fresh eggs and picking fruit off the trees surrounding the house.

Debbie was a gem! We had an unexpected hiccup in our trip and Debbie had a few extra things we needed handy. The place is awesome, bed slept great and super clean. We’d stay again
