Ocean View Tropical Ranch is a private 2-bedroom, 1-bath guesthouse located on our five-acre residential property in Hilo, Hawaiʻi. Our family lives in a separate, detached main residence on the property. The guesthouse has its own private entrance, dedicated parking, living spaces, full kitchen, laundry, and covered lanai, giving you the privacy and comfort of your own retreat while having your hosts nearby should you need anything during your stay.
YOUR PRIVATE HILO RETREAT
Designed for travelers who prefer the comfort and character of a local Hawaiʻi stay over a traditional resort, our spacious guesthouse combines peaceful country living with convenient access to Hilo.
Step outside onto your private covered lanai and enjoy the fresh air, tropical landscape, open pasture, and expansive views toward Hilo Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Mornings are peaceful, evenings are relaxing, and the setting gives you a chance to slow down and enjoy a different side of island life.
Despite the quiet setting, you are only approximately three miles from downtown Hilo, making the guesthouse an excellent home base for exploring East Hawaiʻi and the rest of the Big Island.
THE GUESTHOUSE
The home comfortably accommodates up to six guests and includes:
• Primary Bedroom: King-size bed and 58" HDTV
• Second Bedroom: Queen-size bed and 32" TV
• Living Room: Queen-size pull-out sofa and 70" HDTV
• Full Bathroom: Bathtub/shower
• Full Kitchen: Electric range, refrigerator, cookware, rice cooker, blender, toaster, coffee maker, and cooking essentials
• Washer & Dryer inside the guesthouse
• High-Speed Wi-Fi
• Private Covered Lanai with outdoor seating
• Private Entrance & Dedicated Parking
Streaming entertainment includes Hulu Live TV, Hulu On Demand, ESPN, Disney+, Netflix, and Amazon Prime.
Traveling with a baby? A clean, well-maintained Pack 'n Play with a removable changing station and napper is available when needed.
PEACEFUL COUNTRY LIVING, MINUTES FROM HILO
Our home is located along a quiet private road in one of Hilo's beautiful residential areas. Here, you can enjoy open space, tropical vegetation, fresh air, and a slower pace while remaining close to shopping, dining, beaches, waterfalls, and many of Hilo's attractions.
The surrounding area is wonderful for a peaceful morning walk or jog, and nearby East Hawaiʻi offers waterfalls, rainforest trails, black-sand beaches, snorkeling, kayaking, botanical gardens, farmers markets, and countless opportunities to experience the natural beauty of the island.
You'll also be conveniently positioned for day trips to Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park and other destinations throughout the Big Island.

We live in the separate, detached main residence on the same five-acre property and respect our guests' privacy. At the same time, we're nearby if you need assistance or would like local recommendations.
We're always happy to share our favorite restaurants, places to visit, scenic drives, and local experiences that may not make it into the typical visitor guide.
Our goal is for you to experience Hilo not simply as a tourist, but as our guest.

The rental is a private, fully detached guesthouse located on the same five-acre residential property as our main residence. The two homes are completely separate and independent from one another.
• Your space is exclusively yours. All guesthouse living areas, including the bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, laundry area, and private covered lanai, are exclusively for our guests and are not shared with the hosts or anyone else.
• Privacy with hosts nearby. Our family lives in the separate main residence on the property. We respect your privacy and space, while also being conveniently nearby if you need assistance during your stay.
• Non-smoking property. The entire property is non-smoking, including all buildings and outdoor areas.
• Exterior security cameras. Exterior security cameras are used for the safety and protection of our guests and property. For our guests' privacy, there are no cameras or monitoring devices inside the guesthouse.

Our stay was amazing! The property was very very clean and decorated nicely. The parking and accessibility were great. The view is just amazing, the goats nearby were so cute! The owners were friendly, kind and the information book inside the home was very well put together and resourceful. I highly recommend this property for your stay while visiting Hilo.

Wonderful 2 bedroom apartment just a few minutes drive from Hilo town center. This is set in a lovely location with lots of space and lovely surroundings including a view of the ocean. Raul was very responsive whenever we needed anything. We arrived early and we were very appreciative of the fact that we were able and welcomed to check in early. The dining table on the covered patio was very nice to have and their neighbors have goats that we enjoyed seeing munching on the landscape. The trade winds were a welcome addition to the indoor fans on the warmer days. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you should need to cook a meal for a family. We liked the fact that we could close off the bedrooms from the main living area at nighttime. Tons of closet space and drawer space, even for heavy packers! Washer and dryer a huge plus too. The family dog Bella, is sooooo adorable. I wudve packed her in my suitcase if I could......lol. Thanks for a great stay.

The best experience with a rental property ever. The location was absolutely amazing and the home was immaculate - very private yet close enough to everything we needed and wanted to do. Raul and his family were really great - our kids enjoyed playing with theirs and loved the being able to feed and play with and feed the dog, goats and chickens. We will 100% come back and use this property on our next trip back!
