The people were great. Lovely family who would do anything to help. The young guy working there is really nice, attentive and friendly.
We were expecting, and would have appreciated a greater sense of privacy, particularly to make better use of the outdoor space. The terrace is consistently occupied by either a staff member or the owner, which made it feel less like a shared guest area and more like someone’s private home. As a result, using the patio felt slightly intrusive rather than relaxing.
The room itself receives very little natural light or airflow unless the front door and windows are left fully open. This made it difficult to dry beachwear and towels, which remained damp throughout our stay. Access to an outdoor clothes rail would have been extremely helpful.
Be aware the “deluxe” double room, does not include air conditioning and has only one window, which overlooks the owner’s walkway. Managing the heat was therefore challenging during our week-long stay. After raising the issue following the first night, the host kindly provided a desk fan the next morning, which did help improve comfort. We knew about the lack of AC and thought a fan would suffice but the lack of airflow was a real issue.
This review isn’t intended to be a complaint but more a “heads up” on the deluxe room to manage expectations. We just feel the 9.2 rating on booking.com isn’t entirely representative of the room we stayed in. We can’t speak for the AC room though, it could be well worth the rating.
The setting is great, the building is charming as are the people. Please do not be discouraged from staying here if you are looking for a cheap, short term stay.
