Loved it, a long cabin in a forest setting

The walk back from town uphill, only because we’re lazy it’s a lovely quiet town

You have something very special here if kept up with. This is a Great deal. Quiet location. Comfy beds. Bathroom was clean. Had all of bathroom supplies. Which was really nice. The common areas are very comfy and cozy and I can see how this would be the spot in the fall time with the fireplaces roaring.

If you’re looking for a quick, inexpensive night. This is the place. The room was very clean. I stayed in the room above the common areas. I wasn’t aware this is where thr room was located. This did require steps. But it was comfortable. No refridgerator on the second floor. I had to share in the common area. What I didn’t like that actually made me leave earlier than check out was how damp the room was. Yes, you’re in the woods and it rained. But I travel a lot and stay in many different places. I’ve experienced this before but it’s usually an HVAC issue with humidity settings. Not sure but that’s what made it uncomfortable for me. The AC kept things really cool. But even my clothes and bedsheets were damp and sticking to me. the porch was dirty. Just needed swept and cleaned up a little better.

Wildrest overall is a nice place to stay and a great lodge for a base camp to explore the mountains. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable .The location in Waynesville is great and this lodge has a lot of potential.

Even though the listing on the booking app stated a refrigerator was included in the room, that was not the case. I have to use the common refrigerator downstairs from my room in the public area of the lodge. Also, the TV didn't work. I reported it upon check-in and the on site inn keeper tried to fix it, but wasn't successful. Ultimately, after trying to fix it myself for several hours, including a rest of the factory settings. That apparently fixed the issue and I was only without TV for one night.
