Staying in a renovated cave was on our Wishlist and list property did not disappoint. There was enough space for 2 adults and 2 children. The renovation is stunning, the shower was amazing, Fabio provided breakfast supplies which made the kids happy

Amazing stay in a beautiful property!

if I could rate this stay 20/10 I would! Fabio greeted us on arrival, gave us a tour of the property and how to access wifi etc. He has renovated the cave in a converted convent to an exceptional standard, all fittings are to a high specification whilst preserving the original features including the floor. The location is perfect for exploring the old city, and Fabio gave lots of advice and recommendations for best routes and restaurants. The knowledge and pride he takes in his city, shines through!

The perfect place to stay in Matera, feels like luxury at an affordable price.

This property is even more beautiful in real life. It has been renovated to a very high standard with thought given to the guests such as USB plug sockets near the beds and perfect lighting. Fabio was very helpful and informative. We followed his map and suggestions. We wouldn’t have known about the hike over the bridge to get to the other side of Matera to see the sunsetting behind the sassis, well worth the walk. Would also recommend the cookery course we did - ‘Matera Cookery Class’, Sylvia and Greg were excellent and their olive farm is beautiful to visit. Matera felt an ideal place to do the course as it was too hot to walk about in the day time.
