Beautifully furnished, cosy and comfortable cottage. Every little detail we could possibly need had been thought of. We truly felt at home. Also a great choice for travellers with bikes, as there's an outdoor bike wash area and secure, convenient storage space.

Sharon made it easy for us to check in with the key safe. Everything is here and more! The downstairs rooms are all huge! We had a well stocked kitchen/diner plus utility room, which we weren't expecting :-), A big lounge with another dining area with French windows overlooking the back garden and wow, the garden is huge with lots of seating.
Everything was spotless and the only thing we had slight problems with were the height of the ceilings upstairs but it's an old cottage and we're over 5" 10 so totally understandable. I highly recommend Mary Cottage for anyone that's looking for a break in the North East of Scotland. You'll love it!

The house is spacious. There is a well equipped kitchen to cook with. Plenty of cutlery, utensils and pots / pans. The fridge is in another part of the kitchen so a little bit of walking back and forth between the main kitchen and the utility (?) area but that was fine for us. The TV room is split in 2 sections. The seating area was cosy and comfortable. The garden was AMAZING 🤩. It is well enclosed, large and very green garden full of plants. Great for our dog who enjoyed playing and lounging in the sun.
It's not a complaint as there is nothing that can be done about it, but if you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you. The bedrooms are upstairs. The stairs are steep and you really have to take care going up and down the stairs. Also, if you are tall, the beds are under the eaves and it is very easy to bang your head getting out of bed. We were just very careful. We left our possessions downstairs as both bathrooms are downstairs and just slept upstairs. We got ready and dressed downstairs.
