The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and the water was hot in our bathroom, there was plenty of coffee and tea in the room and everything worked barring the towel rail, but as soon as we told someone about it they brought a radiator up to use instead.
I had mentioned to someone when booking dinner that it was our wedding anniversary and they went to the trouble of getting a card for us which was a really nice gesture. The dinner menu was a little limited but the meal itself was really good and our breakfast was excellent.
The noise from the bar below our bedroom was a bit loud but, thankfully, it didn't go on too late.

Breakfast was alright but nothing special. The situation was slightly isolated but that didn't prove to be a problem as we had our own transport. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. This is a very busy drinking pub so expect noise late into the evening.
We ate at the pub the first evening of our stay and found the main meal disappointing and the selection somewhat limited. We had looked at the menu online before we stayed and it differed to that actually offered. The room was small but clean but there was no hair dryer, so beware.
