The staff ! Unbelievably helpful, went out of their way at many points during our stay. Also large rooms & the peaceful quite ambience were lovely
The breakfast spread is mediocre for $5 according to our Sri Lankan experience. Also the bedsheets were not very clean & had stains but heard the hotel was undergoing maintenance/ renovation immediately after our stay; so wouldn’t blame them for that

This is a good, basic hotel with clean, comfortable beds and good water pressure in the showers. The breakfast is especially good with daily variation and lots of options. There is a fantastic scenic walk (off the beaten track) which takes in a waterfall, hill climb with incredible view, and then can walk to Ella along the railway.
Location is far out of town. Probably 20 minutes by tuk tuk with nothing in the vicinity of the hotel.
The decor is fairly soulless and basic - but at least is clean and new.
At 5am the loud juice machine goes on and chairs get dragged across the floor. Most of the rooms are directly below, so this is an issue that the owners/staff need to address.
