The Space:
Newly renovated apartment on the second floor for 6 people, with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. Entrance on a large hallway, which overlooks a bright living room with kitchen and dining table, sofa bed, TV, and a small balcony. The internal view makes the apartment extremely quiet. Unlimited Wi-Fi, washing machine. Possibility of self-check-in with numeric keypad 24 hours a day.
The Neighborhood:
Duomo Cathedral is the main square of Milan, its real geometric and commercial center for over seven centuries. It is the vital center of the city, a meeting place for the Milanese to celebrate important events and, together with the adjacent Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the iconic place par excellence of the metropolis and a destination for visitors and tourists from all over the world.
The square has an area of approximately 17,000 square meters and is rectangular in shape, considering also the area enclosed by the surrounding buildings, arranged according to the Cathedral which closes the background perspective of the square, the surface is 40,200m2 which makes it become one of the largest squares in Italy.
Dominated by the imposing Gothic front of the Cathedral, and decorated in the center by the equestrian monument to Vittorio Emanuele II erected in 1896, the square is surrounded by various architectures of different periods: it stands in front of the bulk of the cathedral Palazzo Carminati, while on the larger sides of the the symmetrical southern porticoes are flanked by the two towers of the Arengario and the northern ones accompanied by the monumental entrance to the gallery.

Communication with the host was prompt and easy, and check in was a breeze. The apartment was clean and perfect for a family of four, and we loved the location. It was just around the corner from the gorgeous Cathedral, and was easy walking to the Last Supper museum. We had managed to get a time booked shortly after our arrival and were nervous we wouldn’t make it, but it was no problem.

This apartment was conveniently located, and the host was incredibly responsive to any questions I had.However, I gave this apartment a 3-star rating due to issues outside our host’s control that still negatively impacted our stay. A significant sewer problem affected the entire building, and whenever it rained, a foul odor would emanate from outside our apartment and into one of the bathrooms, rendering it unusable. This odor would seep into the rest of the apartment, making our stay quite uncomfortable. Additionally, the thin walls made it difficult to sleep. We stayed there for two nights, and every night (it was past 11 pm), we could hear noises from our neighbors upstairs, like they were dragging furniture and continuously dropping things. Since Andrea didn’t manage the apartments on top of ours, there was no way to address this issue.
