Fabulous, comfortable stay in a quiet location. On a clear day you can just about see the top of the ring of brodgar in the distance so bring binoculars. Hot tub was relaxing, spotless and lovely hosts.

Heatherhouse is a lovely place to stay with all the facilities you could need for a comfortable self catering stay in Orkney. The location was excellent, only a short drive from Stromness and within easy reach of all the World Heritage sites.

Great location, easy to find, and beautiful views - especially from the hot tub! Pod was very similar in layout to others that I’ve stayed in, but the biggest difference was the bed. One of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. After a day out walking around in the Orkney sea air, we slept like logs in absolute comfort.
The welcome basket was absolutely fantastic too, and a handy guide with nearby places to eat and drink if you’re new to the island. My only advice would be if you’re going out to eat in the evening, book a table ahead as a lot of the restaurants are on the smaller side. So if there’s a cruise ship visiting, they can fill up fast.
I will definitely be returning, and will recommend to anyone I know looking to visit the island
