Location was good. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was well stocked. Nicely decorated (but needed a repaint in areas!)
Cleanliness really poor overall. I didn't want to complain and waste our long weekend sorting it, but bathroom in particular was really bad. A dirty tidemark all around inside of bath, very mouldy. The bathroom floor was black around edges with lots of hair and dust everywhere. There was hair on the toilet seat when we first arrived which made me question if it had actually been cleaned at all. Sink had mould around the plughole. The rest of house had peeling paint on the skirtings and scuffs on the walls. There was a large damp mark on hallway ceiling just outside bedrooms - a leak? The lovely velvet sofa was covered in stains too unfortunately.
The parking outside wasn't ideal, we only have a saloon car but struggled to get it out of the space safely and almost scuffed the car on the alleyway walls a couple of times (made trickier as there was a car parked next door too). I think it would be good to advertise that it's down an alleyway and make this clear when booking; if our car was any bigger it wouldn't have fit. Nervous drivers or bigger cars will struggle here as it's very tight.
Finally, check in was from 2:30 so we selected arrival time between 2-3 (aiming for 2:30). This was approved via email. We arrived after 2:30 but still hadn't been provided with any arrival information beforehand. I emailed the company about 1/2 hour before arrival to request key code and this wasn't replied to. We then phoned and it took around 10 mins for them to get back to us; the lady on phone sounded genuinely surprised that we were there despite them having agreed it (and check-in was advertised as 2:30) and then gave us the wrong code for the key box. She insisted this was the correct code despite us telling her it didn't work. We were getting stressed by this point as we'd been driving for 4.5 hours, now couldn't get in and our kids were upset, and it was raining.
