It was steps from the beach. It was quiet. The private beach and picnic area were well taken care of and clean. They furnished beach chairs. It was nice to have a gas grill on site. We had plenty of basic amenities provided (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, coffee, cream). There was cooking spray, salt, pepper and laundry detergent in the unit. I’m not sure if these were provided by a previous guest or property management, but they were very nice to have. The cooking pans were nice and there were measuring cups, which not all rentals have.
The beds were very uncomfortable. My husband and I both had back pain and didn’t sleep well for the entire time we stayed. The kitchen was tiny. Two people couldn’t fit in it at the same time. There was no dishwasher, despite the fact that our discharge instructions said to load it and run it. There was no washer or dryer to wash swimsuits and beach towels. We tried sink washing them but they did not dry well. The pretty beach views were all obstructed and just made to look serene by listing photo angles. The windows were dirty with handprints from the inside and dead baked on bugs from the outside. Trying to look at the beach from inside the unit made that painfully obvious. The only storage space was the closet. There was no room for us to put food in the cabinets. The bathroom storage is even worse. There isn’t even hardly room for toothbrushes on the sink, and there is no medicine cabinet. There is no central AC. The back bedroom had a unit. It would be freezing in that bedroom while the air did not circulate well through the rest of the unit. Property management was disorganized. We were provided check in directions for unit 14, when we were in unit 11. We didn’t realize this until the lock code wouldn’t work while my daughter is crying she needed to use the bathroom. We locked our key inside our unit because the door has a type of lock that can lock if pulled closed. We called the property managers (who were offsite). They didn’t know if they had a spare key and said they would have to call us back. It was like they’d never thought about this situation before. I guess it was good for this circumstance that they never locked the windows, because we climbed in a window to get in. That then raised security concerns that we had been sleeping there with young children with unlocked windows. We never opened the windows while we were there, and never thought we’d need to check to make sure the windows were locked upon arrival.
