Avoid this host!

Me and my wife have never even reached this destination as communication with the host made us feel very uncomfortable. I have been on Booking.com for plenty of years but have never had such a situation before. After booking the cabin got the information the check-in is after 1 p.m. although on Booking.com it says the check-in starts at 3 p.m. - since we were travelling a long distance from LA we made our plans with accordance to the host's message which was 1 p.m. We planned to unpack and then go to the Joshua National Park. On the day of arrival before 8 a.m. I got the message from the host that I could check-in at any time that day. It was even better information. To my surprise when we reached Joshua Tree I got another text stating the cabin was not ready and saying I did agree for a late check-in which was never the fact. I do not mind changing plans I do mind laying to me. The text also stated that check-in can be at 4 p.m. and at the same time was indicating 5 p.m. I replied I had never agreed for late check-in, still 4 p.m. was fine we would adjust our plans. Then it got even more weird as I got a text from the host asking why I did not reply and whether I was going to buy it... Then I got puzzled - tried to call the host - my call was never answered I was not called back instead I got another message, the final one. In the meantime I have informed the host I will report the story to Booking.com but this was ignored by the host. Since the place is away from the city, I was only with my wife, the host seemed to be very, very unstable and unpredictable we decided, for our safety not to go there at all. If someone, the host, is texting you the phone was not answered since the host had a "head in the toilet" you start to think... Maybe the place could be fine for me and my wife, but with the whole conversation with the host we were just afraid to go there - never know whether such a person is around and what kind of behavior may come...

Privacy and quiet in a lovely little house, perfect gateway to connect with nature and watch the stars.

The property is modern and looks great, clean and has everything is needed. House is somewhat isolated so it’s great for someone who wants a quiet gateway and a place where you can connect to nature and have your own space without being disturbed. Owner was really helpful and left a lot of tips and info in great details

I loved everything about the property, I just want to note there is about a 10 mins drive on a dirt road to reach the house, so you need to be comfortable with having a bit of a drive on an unpaved road. We had the most basic car and not a 4x4, and we had no issues with the drive/reaching the place.
