I really enjoyed my stay here! The host, Yakup, was incredibly friendly and hospitable. He also runs a travel agency on the first floor of the hotel, so if you need a tour or transfer, he can easily arrange one for you.
The room was spacious and had good air conditioning. There was plenty of hot water, no unpleasant smells, and the linen was clean and fresh. Tea and coffee were also available on the first floor.
The location is super central, within easy walking distance of the tram stop and Sultanahmet Square, with Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and many other Istanbul highlights nearby.
The price was also lower than many of the other hotels in the area, which made it an especially good value.
I really loved my stay and would happily come back! Thank you, Yakup!
One thing to consider: the area around the hotel is quite hilly, so there is a bit of an uphill climb when you leave the hotel. The staircase inside is also fairly steep. This was absolutely fine for me and didn’t bother me at all, but it might be worth keeping in mind if you have difficulty walking, are travelling with young children, or have a lot of heavy luggage.
