Would recommend this hotel!

Great location, restaurant was good, also used the Yoga class on the roof and it was fun and the teacher was great. The beach is right outside of the hotel with beach beds and shade. stuff is very nice and helpful :)

Water pressure in the shower was a bit weak, also had some ants in the shower but we didn't mind that too much and did not inform the staff.

The location and the yard

I wanted to work out on the rooftop and the staff did not let me use a chair for my workout for no good reason. After I left, I came back a few time to meet a friend and did not feel welcome. The WiFi in the room was poor. The price was way too high for what I got. There should be a different price for a single traveler with a singles room. Shower stream was weak.

Everything we could’ve hoped for and more!

Everything about this place was awesome! We had a sea view room which was amazing, we could watch the sunrise from our beds! It was clean, lovely staff, great location, great breakfast, can’t fault it!

The room is very nice and clean! + a great view 😊 Also the staff were lovely 😊

Part of the facilities were not available- the rooftop was closed and there were no Yoga classes 🫤

An amazing location and very friendly and efficient staff.

The location, exactly on the beach is wonderful. The rooms with sea view, which are large and bright, have a small individual terrace that allows you to enjoy the beach without treading on the sand. From the second floor, you overlook the entire bay and you can watch the ballet of fishermen leaving and returning from the open sea with their fish. All hotel staff are particularly friendly and try to help guests as much as possible. During my stay, I was able to take advantage of the covered rooftop to do my morning gym thanks to Mr Lucky, the manager, who allowed me access. He and his employees have always been attentive to ensuring that I lacked nothing. The continental breakfast at the hotel is original and tasty. The restaurant is also very good with attentive service.

The bottom of the doors of the toilets and the terrace would need to be planed because the opening is sometimes difficult. But that's just a detail.

okay but not great

- located directly at the beach - nice view from the room - good breakfast, they even made a granola bowl for us every day :) - possibility to rent a scooter

- ants in the bathroom and a cockroach in the room - stains on pillow and bedsheets - hotel / reception gets very noisy after 7am and you can hear every spoken word in the room (1st floor) - when booking at booking.com: make sure to check if the correct rate USD --> SLR has been applied by the hotel when checking out / paying

Good location & delicious breakfast

The hotel is located near the beach and around 5 min walk to the beach. Less parking space is available and reservation is needed due to this. There is a restaurant on-site and you can get breakfast free of charge depending on your booking. Welcome drinks are provided on arrival. Breakfast was delicious and it was a buffet. Staff was friendly

TV was available in the room and limited to local channels. washroom water is salty and hot water can not be guaranteed. The Wifi did not work at all. Management needs more attention to sanitary facilities.

Basic tired hotel but location great

The location was perfect right on the beach but the hotel is very dated and the restaurant area was plagued with mosquitoes constantly. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The mosquitoes and the bathroom had a horrible smell of drains constantly

Old Hotel, needs makeover or cheaper prices

The location is very nice, directly at the beach. The staff is friendly and the food at the restaurant is really tasty! We definitely recommend to try this good restaurant.

The hotel is in its ages. The bathroom needs a makeover and there is some smell inside the room which is not really good. All in all you can stay there but not for this price.

elegant beach stay, near by everything you need

the location is perfect. i would suggest splurging for an ocean view it’s magical to watch the sunrise and check the waves! yoga is very high quality too. thank you!

Very good

The friendly staff, the service and their advice!! The location in the middle of Arugam Bay. The food and juices were good and the view on the beautiful beach is stunning.

The prices in Arugam Bay are higher then the rest of the places that we visited in Sri Lanka. That is also the case with this hotel. The breakfast was not included, although the breakfast buffet was nice. The lunch and dinner portions were a bit small.

Best hotel in Arugam Beach

The breakfast was very varied. There were waffles one day, the other a buffet and so on. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was exceptionally good. I felt very comfortable on my own.

Amazing hotel with gorgeous views of the beach, lovely food and incredible staff.

The location is perfect, with stunning views of the sunrise on a morning. The beds are super comfortable and the food is great, including the breakfast. Overall it feels really modern, very clean and amazing staff. yoga is a available every day on the roof top, which is fantastic. The staff were really welcoming and we were gutted to have to leave!

Everything was amazing but if I had to say just one thing it’d be to have softer towels, as they hurt your skin when sunburnt haha!

Best place to stay in Arugam Bay

Bay Vista in Arugam Bay is most likely the best best experience we have made while our journey. The family owned hotel gives everybody a very warm welcome which makes you feel beeing part of the family. Everybody in there is just so friendly and takes care of all your wishes. The food is amazing and rooms are lovely. Moreover I was impressed that the owners also take very much care of their staff and support local society. Even while curfew or power cuts Arugam Bay was a wonderful place without many restrictions. Thank you Bay Vista Team!!!

The sincere attentiveness of each member of their team. They take real pride in their hotel and its facilities and you can see they care about each other and the guests. We enjoyed every minute and cannot wait to go back.

We had the most amazing stay at Bay Vista, the pictures don’t do the hotel justice

We had the most amazing stay at Bay Vista, the pictures don’t do the hotel justice. We booked a room with a sea view for our two-night stay which was definitely worth it. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. The atmosphere in the evening was amazing! We had spoken with the waiter earlier in the day and found out that they had caught a fresh Snapa which we order for the evening. On the second day we did Yoga on the terrace with Kelly which we couldn’t recommend more. We loved our Vin Yoga with Kelly, it isn’t often you get to do yoga in the sunset, listening to the waves. We can’t wait to come back to Arugam Bay and visit Bay Vista again.

We loved everything. Our only comment is that the photos doesn't do the hotel justice!

Clean, great location and great food.

When you take the room key out of the holder to leave the room it turns the power off. That is fine, to save on A/C and lights etc however it also turns the fridge off. The fridge should be connected separately so it is always on.

modern hotel with the beach just in front of the door. The whole staff is super friendly and helpful and also the food (especially breakfast) was really good. Had a lovely stay here - nothing negative. Also the view from the balcony was amazing.

Stayed here in the offseason. Basically every other place was closed so we dined there too. Good food and lovely workers and manager, nothing was too much to ask!

Don’t go to Arugam Bay before April.
