I really enjoyed the breakfast here, especially the vegetarian options. Everything was fresh, tasty, and nicely prepared. The fresh watermelon and papaya were a lovely addition too. 🍉
The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the stay feel comfortable and relaxed.
Overall, a very pleasant experience. The breakfast and friendly staff were definitely among the highlights of my stay.
⭐⭐⭐ Harbour Front Villa
Our stay was disappointing, particularly considering that we paid approximately LKR 30,000 for two nights. Several important aspects of the accommodation did not match the description provided on Booking.com.
1. Restricted access to the property
The main gate was kept locked, and we had to contact someone to open it every time we returned to the property. This happened repeatedly, including when returning in the morning, evening, after dinner, or after going out. Having to call for access on every occasion was highly inconvenient.
2. Room significantly different from the listing
The Booking.com listing indicated a sea-view room with a balcony. However, the room provided to us was on the ground floor and had neither a sea view nor a balcony.
The room was essentially a basic room with a bathroom, and the layout felt more like a room within a shared hall rather than the private accommodation described in the listing. This was a significant discrepancy between what was advertised and what we actually received.
3. Bathroom and surrounding conditions
We found insects in the bathroom during our stay. The ground-floor room was also located close to a drainage/sewage area, and there was an unpleasant smell around the room, which affected our comfort.
4. Beach location
The property is not directly opposite the beach. It takes approximately 20 minutes to walk to the beach, which was different from the impression we had when making the reservation.
Overall
For LKR 30,000 for two nights, we expected the accommodation to reasonably match the facilities and description presented on Booking.com. The absence of the advertised sea view and balcony, the room layout, repeated difficulty accessing the property, bathroom insects, unpleasant surroundings, and distance from the beach significantly affected our stay.
