About this cabin rental
Brand-new construction in Ockenden, just moments from Shaver Lake. This 3-bedroom, 2-bath retreat sleeps 7 across a king suite, a queen room, and a twin-over-full bunk room — all outfitted with new furniture throughout. Unwind by the gas fire pit after a day on the lake, or simply enjoy the quiet of a freshly built mountain home. Our sister property, Happy Trails, sits just behind — ideal for groups traveling together.
The Space:
Every corner of this Ockenden home was designed with intention. The open-concept living area flows straight into a fully-equipped kitchen — new appliances, ample counter space, and everything you need to cook a full mountain breakfast or plate up takeout from town. Large windows draw in natural light and frame the surrounding pines, while the gas fire pit out back turns any evening into an occasion.
This is a home built for slowing down: morning coffee on the patio, board games after a day on the water, or simply the stillness that comes with new construction and a quiet neighborhood.
Traveling with a larger group or want friends nearby without sharing a roof? Our sister property, Happy Trails, sits just behind this home — perfect for extended family or friend getaways where everyone still gets their own space to unwind.
Guest Access:
You'll have full private access to the entire home — all three bedrooms, both bathrooms, the kitchen, living area, and the backyard with the gas fire pit. The garage is not included in your stay. There is no shared space with the host or other guests; the rest of the property is yours for the duration of your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Ockenden is one of Shaver Lake's newer, quieter pockets — a peaceful residential setting surrounded by pine forest. You're just a couple miles from the village's shops and restaurants, and about four miles from the marina, where boat, SUP, and kayak rentals await. It's the kind of neighborhood where mornings are calm and stars are visible at night, offering a true escape from the everyday while still keeping you close to everything Shaver Lake has to offer.
Getting Around:
A car is recommended to make the most of your stay — Ockenden is a quiet residential area, and having your own vehicle makes it easy to reach the village shops, restaurants, and the marina, plus explore the surrounding trails and lake at your own pace. Please note cell service can be limited in this area, so we recommend downloading offline maps or noting directions in advance. In winter, cars should be equipped with chains or snow tires, as 4x4 is recommended though not always required.
Interaction with Guests:
I'm available throughout your stay via message for anything you need — questions, recommendations, or help if something comes up. I like to give guests their space and privacy, so I won't be checking in unnecessarily, but I'm always just a message away and typically respond quickly. Whether it's a great local trail suggestion or troubleshooting the fire pit, I'm here to make your stay as smooth as possible.
